NOOOOOO not NESTEA!!!

Hope he re-qualifies for Code A next season but I'm doubtful especially with the increasing skills of the Kespa players. Hope it isn't the last we see of him.

As the game is heading more and more toward mechanic play it will be more harder for Nestea. Quite sad really.

I would really like to know what has happened to NesTea. His fall is almost as if he can no longer win against the players who now use raw multitasking to beat him. Is he just too old/slow to play anymore, or is he having other problems that once he resolves will allow him to dominate again?

NesTea was the GSL for me, and now I am very sad. Long live the god zerg.

i just feel like the caliber of his opponents have gotten better while he has been fairly static.

It's more that the game is more mapped out now, the games go longer and the maps are bigger whilst he's still running on zergbong mechanics.

Yeah, you are right. Sadly, as the game develops, there will be less and less room for smart players like Nestea. He might surge at the beginning of each expansion, but I would expect it to be nothing more than a flash in the pan. Once smart players like Nestea figure out the game, the mechanical beasts that follow are true masters of the game.

As the TL writers suggested, when the game becomes more mature, the understanding of the game improves among players and leads to better decision making, therefore making Nestea's key advantage less relevant.

i remember watching nestea in the second gsl competition, it was just as i started to play starcraft. Although i was a terran player i really enjoyed watching his games. It's sad to see him go but i hope he can either re-qualify or stay active in sc2 in another way.

Sad to see Nestea get totally bounced.

Really surprised with how quickly the Kespa players are taking out the GSL pros, but glad that at least Bomber could stay alive.

Note that this means that Leenock will win Code S. Nestea is no longer needed because Leenock will become the new Nestea, As prophecies fortold.

So i open a Code A topic with an intriguing name and the fist bolded thing i see is a spoiler from the one game i was looking forward to watching.

Please fit "recap" somewhere in the title next time.

I can't say I even considered Nestea losing to Sparta, I have seen some of his play from Korean weeklys and such, and he looked good, but it really was surprising to see him win. Sad to see baby go out as well, maybe if Bomber would stop dropping mules the second he feels ahead he would be a little bit consistent...

Bomber looked good mentally during those games. Whenever the camera cut to him he looked comically blank and emotionless. Also he didnt drop 50 mules way to early or do any of his normal manner junk. I know Marineking mentioned hed been working on his mental game a lot and Bomber is another player who would be great if he could just solve the head games. Or he'll just sabotage himself in the next round, it is Bomber after all

Man, Nestea's clutch hold in the first game only to be followed by ZergBong level late games in match 2 and 3 were incredibly devastating to watch as a NesTea fan.
