ForU (P) vs Rock (P) on Guillotine
Rock went for a two gate build off the start, while ForU also went two gate gas, with his second gate coming very late. Rock poured a steady stream of zeals north and the micro wars commenced. Despite that late second gate, ForU soon had more zealots than Rock with a much faster core and gas. Rock regrouped and tried to run out again with his zealots, but by the time he chased ForU back dragoons were beefing up the army of the GO team member. Fearless in his attack, ForU stormed Rock’s choke and forced Rock to defend with his probes. His economy took an enormous hit, forcing him to go reaver to try and even things up. ForU simply retreated, massed goons and some reavers of his own, and then moved south again. Roch met him half way, lost his army, and then was run over quickly for the next wave of troops.
Ogogo (Z) vs fofy[gm] (T) on Guillotine
The [gm] clan is a pro machine these days, and fofy is the first of their recruits to hit the stage. Ogogo spawned at one o’clock and quickly expanded, while fofy built up a quick gas and academy, then straight to a starport while massing MM at his choke. While Ogogo blocked his choke with lurkers, fofy sent a dropship with two tanks north and dropped them on the ledge behind Ogogo’s nat. Ogogo took care of them with lurkers, but only after losing multiple lurks.
Ogogo switched up to mutalisks while fofy formed the typical tank/vessel/MM army. After dealing with some muta harass, he tried to move out, but Ogogo destroyed him in an instant with a lurker/muta/ling. The 2003 champ won his first ever OGN game in very convincing style, slaughtering the terran army in the blink of an eye.
ForU (P) vs Ogogo (Z) on Requiem
Ogogo pooled before his hatchery as positions were close at 3 and 6. This didn’t stop ForU from going for a forge first and then expanding to take a serious economic lead. Ogogo did not look pleased with this turn of events as he quickly took his own natural. ForU lit up his choke with a half-dozen cannons while going reaver as Ogogo rallied his hydras to his choke. After scaring Ogogo back to his base with an empty shuttle, ForU expanded again for a third gas while putting up double stargates which were a perfect counter to Ogogo’s new mutalisks. A switch back to hydras led to a mass attack on ForU’s cannon choke, but the reaver/cannon combo overwhelmed his forces and ForU mopped him up from there.
Rock (P) vs fofy[gm] (T) on Alchemist
Rock sent in some early zealots as fofy blocked the wrong entrance to his base, causing the young terran to have to devote his time to early rine micro. Both players then expanded with fofy making the first move as he brought his tank army north and set up a front. Rock decided on some quick two gate carriers while keeping the terran metal at bay, but fofy looked good as he took another expansion and dropped down more factories. Just as he began to move forward the first two carriers cut him off and he was forced to retreat while losing many of his tanks to interceptor fire. Fofy tried to move forward to twelve again, under the protection of goliaths, but there was just not enough room to maneuver and the goliths got pinned trying to transverse the ramps. With his army worn out from constant carrier/goon pressure, fofy fell back and collapsed under the might of Rock’s army.
Ogogo vs Rock on Dream of Balhae
Rocks early sair harass slowed down Ogogo early on as he took another main and worked on his reaver/sair army. Ogogo found the expansion with an overlord and hydra it quickly, but Rock saved the nexus with a pair of reavers. Ogogo’s follow-up attack was poor, and Rock took control from here on, defending against hydra drops with sairs while continuing to expand. The end came down to Rock’s overwhelming economy producing a reaver/sair army that was too much for Ogogo, who had a lot of difficulty keeping his units alive long enough to do anything but superficial damage.
Imbalance what? Protoss gamers stomp up and down this group, ensuring that the next Dual League will have a much better chance of producing a protoss rep. ForU and Rock make it to the Dual league with ForU representing Group A in the OCL finals. Ogogo will try again in the next challenge league, while fofy will have to requalify.
