Goooo Select! Been rooting for select since the qualifiers started, so I really hope he can pull through in this last stage. Would suck that Strelok doesn't make it, but unfortunately one of them has to go home.
I hope select can get in, that guy has been in like every qualifier thus far and made deep runs. Hopefully his persistence is paid off. Can't wait for the bracket show either.
I wonder how they are going to go about filling the bracket... Will it be like the NCAA tournament, taking all the participants and giving them all a seed? Doesn't matter though, will still be good stuff.

What kind of cookie? what if someone is allergic to some specific cookies?! You cant email just 1 cookie it will get old and dusty by the time it arrives in the mailbox!
Man this bracket is good im gonna try do it later so hyped to see if any of my predictions will be right i doubt it tho hehe.
Holy shit I just realized howmuch these guys actually play. GoOdy sitting at almost 500 games just from cups. Silly GSL koreans practicing a lot, but nowhere near the games they can play for money.

Really looking forward to the bracket reveal and who are the poor foreigners that are gonna have to play the koreans
Have you seen Jinro lately? he's been looking just as impressive as all the Koreans in Code S, except maybe MC. sc2 has a much stronger non-korean scene than bw, imho (i don't know much about bw tho)
I am so hyped for this and I love DJwheat but I'm afraid since Wheat is casting it will be on ustream. Ustream is blocked in china so I really hope they don't use ustream so the international fans can watch but I have a feeling it will be . Cross my fingers and hope the chinese fans get to show their love for sc2!

It will be on ustream but I want to clarify that it is not Wheats fault or choice. I've seen this brought up before; if you have issues with the TL shows don't blame Wheat for using ustream cause it's us doing that.
On March 03 2011 09:44 wideye wrote: a couple others have asked, still no answer ... how are the brackets being filled? random?
If we explained how we fill the brackets then there isn't anything to reveal this Saturday. Just sit tight a few more days and enjoy the show.
And I didn't realize till now how even the races will be. 11 protoss, 11 terran, 9 zerg, 1 random. Epic.
I hope they do the brackets totally random. If we end up with invites matched with qualified, we might end up with 13 invites in the Ro16 lol. Which would be a little depressing.
I apologize for the retardation, but typically I don't get the chance to watch these games, how would I go about seeing these? are there VODS anywhere and or casts?
Just the idea of MC, idra, huk, nestea, nada and boxer get me excited v.v

Im pretty sure Jinro doesnt count as a foreigner at this point. Yes, he has white skin and non slanted eyes but he plays, practices and lives with a korean team. Unless youre one of those people who believe that koreans are somehow genetically superior at playing sc2 lol

also Select!!
Yeah, I don't see Jinro as a "foreigner." He's been training and living in Korea for a while now.

By foreigners I meant people that played on Non-Korea and didn't live on Korea. My bad I guess. People like Jinro plays those korean players everyday and plays at the same level that the koreans do. People that qualified with TLOpen just don't play as much as the koreans do. That's why I belive koreans players have an edge.
3+ of the top 4 will be Korean invites imo... Have you guys seen how 2nd tier Koreans like Moon and Ace just TORE through some of the best non-Koreans around in IEM so far?
Hopefully the will analyze the bracket/matchups/participants with some players and let give predictions from at least 2 participating players on each matchup, just like in TSL2 with IdrA and ret, that was so cool. But I'm sure that's what the main content of the Brackte Show is anyway :D
So has it been announced who is casting the actual tournament? I remember them saying they were going to announce it this past weekend but i never heard anything about it.

Not sure what your referring to, but if your looking for the TSL 3 games none have been played yet. This coming saturday will be the bracket creation and the release of other important info and hopefully a date for when all the fun is going to begin.
If i misunderstood and your looking for the TLOpen Vods i believe they are on Tl youtube page that is youtube.com/TeamLiquidnet hope this helps.

No none of the information has been released yet. They had originally planned to release it after the last TLOpen but it was postponed for unknown reason. My understanding is that this info will be released this weekend. If not im sure they will tell us when we should expect it by.
EFF YEAH!!!! HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!!!! BEST TOURNEY IN THE FRIGGIN WORLD!!! I have no idea who to cheer for. Strelok and Select are both epic. But for the whole tsl, TLO FIGHTING!!! I want to see him crush every player's hopes and dreams.
Can't wait to see Mondragons play. Even if he hasn't been too active, you know he'll get up for TSL3, and he's sure to have some cool strategies figured out. =)
Wow, this is gonna be the event of the year so far (atleast for me). Before sc2 came out TSL was the only foreigner tournament i followed and now it promises to be as good as the GSL. Im so happy with the invites and the qualifiers. Its gonna be so interesting to see all these top notch koreans and foreigners battling each other for the title. Finaly we are going to see if korea is already a step ahead or not. And with the possibility that there wont be any Blizzard games at WCG this year, TSL is what comes closest to a World Championship. Im so hyped, thank you TL for making this Grand Slam of esports possible.
On March 03 2011 12:13 zerious wrote: Are the brackets randomized? or are they hand picked?
I can 100% guarantee that they are not 100% completely random.
i.e. no Tyler vs Mondragon rematch in the first round just because an RNG said so.
They did say points matter for the brackets. I can only assume: TSL2 seeds>TL Open winners>Qualified by point (TLO highest ranked, select/strelock lowest.) Not sure about invites.
So it is finally happening.. this is intense! SelecT vs Strelok is simply to QUALIFY for TSL .. imagine how incredible the actual tournament will be :O

He'll only crush hopes and dreams if he doesn't roll Protoss...
Oh man, this is so exciting! I really hope SeleCT beats Strelok, I think he's the better player. And I just love to see him play, I really like his style-
Would be nice if the system will be double bracket elimination , we should se more of these awesome players. In this tie brake I'll root for Strelok, gogog EU
Let go Select hopefully you bring home another USA participant. Im really looking forward to a bracket contest, hopefully TL gives some sort of prize ( like an awesome TL shirt ) So glad TSL3 is almost here, lets do this!!!!!

Anywho looking forward to this tourney like a kid for christmas =)
Did you set your timezone? It's right there in the OP.
JINRO FIGHTING!!! LiquidHuk just because he is canadian!!
I'm sure brackets have been thought out very precisely. But I'm still so interested on how it will work out!!!
So many big names, and the fact that TLO is playing random is awesome!! I mean how many guys can random 4k points on ladder and participate in tournaments as random.
march approached so fast I cant believe TSL3 is starting so soon hyped for this !!! rooting for TLO to win the whole thing ,wont hapen but i hope for it
I think there were awesome invites but after watching July's play for this GSL I think he deserved to be invited. All in all, it's an amazing tournament.

He might deserve it at this point but he didn't when the invites were decided so unfortunately there's not much of an argument that can be made for him.

I was going to say no need to be so negative but then I read your user name.
I was thinking how would the community feel if that happens. I feel that It would disappoint me a bit. I don't think Koreans are genetically more capable at the game; it has definitely to do with the quantity and quality in their practice regime.
I think we are going to see some good games and I'm really hoping for some good surprises.
its just facts Dac, don't be disappointed. no one is saying koreans are genetically better at the game except for you. bottom line is koreans are performing a lot better than the foreigners.

Of course they are not more genetically capable, but many of them(maybe not everyone) got a more strict and better training regime than most foreigners, thus better results.
My predictions on just the winner: either MC, MVP, Jinro or Nada wins this. MC and MVP are really the best of their respective races. Nada and Jinro are both very, very solid players. Jinro needs to work on his TvP though. So Jinro work on that and win TSL because you can.
Would like to see Idra do well (tbh he can totally compete with other 4 I picked) but he doesn't seem to be in top shape atm, Boxer is the same story. So if Idra can get into shape then he could win. WhiteRa is imo the best of the players that didn't get invited from Asia, but I don't think he'll get very far (even though I'd totally LOVE it if he did).
In Europe and in NA the competition just isn't as strong as it is in Korea. I think IEM kind of proves that. 3 Koreans and 1 foreigner who's been in Korea, all top 4. Bam. Of course, I could be wrong, but it is my opinion that Korea > the world atm.
Edit: Oh and I think that Koreans are apparently better than everyone else because of how they practice. They have practice houses, teams to work and think together, coaches to coach. In the end they are way, way more prepared than someone who practices on ladder, where you meet gimmicky, cheesy shit that has barely anything to do with real competition. It's not their genes, it's how they work. You get European and NAmerican teams to work together too and they're going to get on par with Koreans, mark my words. (That would rape for esports btw)
Edit2: On second thought, Tyler might do really well since apparently he's practising Korean style. :p
