Poor FoxeR, i feel like he had this in his palms from the start, but let it slip from over arousement nearing the end of the series, the pressure did seem to get to him.

bravo to nestea for his comeback.

and nice awards, would like to see them for the GSL 3 =D

Wow, the writing for this one is pretty good, much more evocative than usual. I really like the introduction text before the games recap. And game 7 really deserves the highest rating possible, I couldn't believe he held up the attack and won the game. It was super duper exciting.

Good job Nestea.

I think this may be a bit late, but I've noticed a lot less QQing threads from Zergs after GSL 1 and 2. =)

The ending ceremony for Nestea was so touching, I almost shed a tear.

My heart was with Foxer, yet my mind knew it was going to be Nestea. Well deserved.

Thanks for the writeup, as allways!
really?

so glad for NesTea, if you look at "Book of Records" thread in BW section, the guy really made it from Zero to Hero, but the beauty of it was as the article decribe it: 10 years of hard work that finally payed off

i love those awards and of course they are all arguable, i think every one can agree on these choices.
i think SansZenith would have been a well deserving 2 award winner, getting "worst player" as well.

I feel like this GSL final a lot less climactic than season one. it seemed like Cool emerged as a hero in season 1 whereas no one was really backing zergbong or foxer. I'm hoping for a better finally to season 3.

What are you basing the game ratings on? They seem pretty off.

Game 7 was a mirror of Game 1, but Game 1 came first, was more daring (long distance rush), with double all-in, and was well executed. It paid off. Game 7 was a failure. Bad strategy by Nestea (FE in close positions given Game 1) and bad micro response by Foxer (failed rush). Unclear how you could give that 5 stars.

The ratings are not off. You have to see the ratings in a context of the entire series, let me explain.

Game 1, a long distance rush, was cool, but was kind of a bad start and Nestea lost pretty bad and the mules truly showed their power. It was kind of a shock for us. Nestea continues throughout the entire series (except on steppes) to go hatch first which Artosis said was a bad idea over and over. The anticipation and the tension on game 7 was truly epic.
When we saw that Nestea would again go hatch first, every Nestea fan was screaming inside "nooooo", even artosis predict this would be a quick win for Foxer.
Then the most epic comeback was witnessed. Nestea told us after he had practised 200 games on this particular build of Foxer, and now we saw the result of that practise in game 7 (he was too nervous in game 1 he said).

I think the grades are well deserved, every fan on TL forums and on irc was facepalming and became sad for Nestea, only to be corrected by this awesome zerg player.

Thanks for the write-up. I'm very glad someone like Nestea triumphed. It really shows anything is possible if you work hard enough.

IdrA gets the award because he got as far as any other foreigner? Wait.. what?
English is not my first language, but don't you mean he want further than any other foreigner? :s

He went to round of 16 which is as far as any foreigner has ever been, i.e. himself and loner. It's not wrong but maybe a little unprecise.
