I'm hoping for a 4-3 win in either direction. My hopes are with Nony but I'd have no problem with mondragon winning it all.
This is gonna be a great finals Looks like I'll be taking an *extended* break from my MA thesis (I have to work on it all the fucking time) to watch the finals.
I'm not even sure I care who wins -- I just want the most epic of epic finals I know these two can give us.

Man, it must be so weird reading this thread after you've already played out the finals and not being allowed to say anything... or alternately they'd probably be smart to stay away from forums.
I hope you've added +1 to servers cause a shitload of people will be watching.. :D P.S. Go Nony! My life for Aiur!
I bet they don't have too much of a problem of reading the threads... if it were me, I'd either be drinking to celebrate or drinking to get over it And then would go on to play more sc2 beta.
In either case, Nony - You better make good on your earlier thread and start the David Kim hunt
Mondi's going to rape like japanese adult comics. ez pz.
nony fighting! usa! usa! usa!
This is gonna be epic. Gogo Mondi!
Epic games with Day9 and Chill, my two favorite casters. Gonna be a good morning =)
And win this NONY!
i'd say ... MONDRAGON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im much more excited for this then the gold medal hockey game.
apparently this make me unpatriotic, fuck i say fuck them LETS GO MONDI
Mondragon FTW!
I think Nony will win, but I hope Mondragon takes it in a bloody epic 4-3 with the last game consisting of mining out every single base forcing them both to use workers in the last battle, just to end it all with a race between the last living high templar that could throw the game deciding storm, killing the handful remaining zerg troops, or if the barely living pack of mutas can snipe it first.
Or just whatever. GLHFGLHF GOGOGO!
i hope Nony can win this so my winning liquibet streak will continue to 12
gogo Panzerfaust, VromVrom steamroll the protoss forces :D

Did anyone notice something strange at that "Final Bracket" image?
It may have just been me, but I swear it revealed the results of this match. >.>
Was that the score of the final in that bracket
let's hope that not a lot of people saw that :D
meh obv still gonna watch it and still lovin the TSL! gogo
Pretty much uncool showing off the bracket with the finals score between Nony and Mondy on the stream a few seconds ago......
Thanks for the spoiler.
hipaul you want to SPOILER THAT, some people may not have seen it, thank you for them......
hipaul, use your head. put that score in spoiler tags
Damm that spoiler had to happen on the most hyped/looking forward to match... Oh noess
oh great, make sure the results are spoiled for everyone instead of just saying that the results were there T_T
btw, thx to the admins for removing it! =)
Well, that should never have happened on the stream at least :/ :/ :/

did the server get overloaded, crash ? ¿ ? does anybody know whats going on?

I was really really lucky to have my web browser crash at that time the bracket show ....

That wasn't a spoiler... caster has a different bracket for each possible score.. and a random one popped through somehow

Well, the stream did crash for me (so I was lucky to miss the spoiler) but it's up again now.

I see an easy zerg win going up. 6 hatcheriers, sunk up > win after a little while.
this is fun, missed half of the game
I can already see Mondragon ZvPing Nony into the ground. Nony has no chance to win this game tbh

Oh Yeah Mondi leaves no chance

Outplayed. Now I think it's time to equalize.

Such a good tournament, thanks so much all casters, TL, and pokerstrategy!
Hooray!!!!!!!!!! NONY FTW!!!
FUCK why the hell does this stream keep crashing man
lol, just as I predicted - I rooted for Mondi and JF in each their final and they both lost
Very well played by both and entertaining games, though!
Does anyone else find it kind of ironic how Nony and JF essentially traded places? JF won Razer TSL and Nony placed 4th. This time, Nony won the TSL and JF placed 4th.
Overall, very good league! Thank you for all the work you put into it. I hope a TSL will be organised for SC2.
NOOOONYYY SO GOSU MONDI U DID WELL TOOO

Chill, how dare you already hype me for TSL for sc2.
I was like "what. WHAT?! WHEN WHEN WHO?"
Congrats to Nony and thank you TL for the best tournament ever
wow did not expect that - mondi's late game management was so intense the first two games it looked like he would sweep a 4-1 victory. Great games, thanks to the sponsors and casters!
GW NonY and Congratulations! 10k pretty nice!
Lol if you really think Mondi meant that "Congratulations" bs you're a retarded llama with hydrocephalus.
Thanks Mondragon. Thanks Nony! Thanks Teamliquid, for this GREAT GREAT tournament!!
Congratulations Nony, you rock so much. Awesome play, and well deserved after going through the hardest path to win it all.
On March 01 2010 06:53 lune wrote: Lol if you really think Mondi meant that "Congratulations" bs you're a retarded llama with hydrocephalus.
I think he meant it. They're adults and capable of a competitive professional respect for each other's skill and ability.
gg's. Thank you so much for the Tournament. Was thrilling like shit.
anyways, for the games: game 1,2 pretty straight forward, mondi took some risks by investing in macro, which payed out for him. game 3: have no idea how mondi could lose that after killing TWO shuttles without losing anything. game 4: absolutely superb play by nony. well deserved win. game 5: it was not nony's strategy that won that imho. mondi completely messed up his control at the natural when the lings were out. he send his probe the wrong way like 3 times, lings blocking his expo, he was clearly nervous there. that totally made his 9-pool worthless. he had produced 6 lings and was unable to get them across the map sooner than with a 12 pool. from then on no economy, and gg. actually defended better than i thought. game 6: mondi did the same thing as in game 1, and nony took perfect advantage of it.
overall, other than game 4, nony mostly won because of mondis mistakes. anyways, that is totally legit of course. so gratz to the winner, and GJ showing who is better mannered
Thanks for the great games Mondragon, and grats NonY! Awesome games by the both of you! Really enjoyed myself ! :D
Dammit. I was watching the stream, went away after Game 4 for just 15 minutes, assuming I'd only miss half of a game, and came back only to see Mondi tapping out. What the hell happened there?
EDIT: While I was typing, someone summed it up. Thanks vanTuni

Totally agree, very mannered and fine way of ending the series =)
Amazing tournament. 10 grand for NonY, good job.
A little bit offtopic, but... could anyone tell the names of songs used very often in TSL videos?
mondi > idra , gg and congratulations makes it for it. as far as games concerning, all games were very entertaining to watch, i dont like zvp very much but was totally worth it seeing them live. game 2 and 4 were my favorite games , very entertaining indeed.
Good games! Too bad mondy didnt win but the most important thing is that Idra didnt win the TSL!! Maan what a loser playing for two years with a pro team loosing to Nony who has been in retirement for a year haha loooool
btw good work teamliquid and poker stars for this great tournament. Hope we will see more of of in the future!
Rise Against - Prayer of the Refugee ?
Grats nony, but I'm so disappointed Mondi lost -.-;
edit: Thanks TL.net and PokerStrategy for organizing this event. Much <3 for both of you!
Almtom, I think you should stfu about Idra, he plays the game becuase he loves it. Yes he rages, but that shows he's very passionate. IMO you have no right to badmouth him, and should respect him for what he already has acomplished as a foreigner, but then again, you're probably just a low post count troll that doesn't appreciate BW.
Thanks Mondragon. Thanks Nony! Thanks Teamliquid, for this GREAT GREAT tournament!!

they're gonna come as poscasts aswell though

Ironically, I watched all the casts except the grand finals. TL gave me the results early so I got to watch the olympic hockey game instead!
Hope Nony spends the $ on something fun.

well deserved win nony! thanks to poker strategy for making it all possible

I fucking overslept again T_T

Well played by Nony, nice win. Congrats!
I think the first 4 games were really well played by both, but Mondragon fell apart a little afterwards, especially in the last game. He had to see that attack coming and yet reacted poorly.
Game 3 was on the edge for a while and really decided the series imo.
Overall the games were a LOT better than what we saw from JF vs Sen.
yeah, level of play in these games was sooo gosu , i actually wanna watch those games again already :D

This tournament was a great event, congrats to all the players and the staff members who made this possible. That was worth the watch every week.
GG
That was a great tournament, it's just really a shame for that spoiler on the stream prior to thé broadcast, and i've seen absolutely no apologies when it kinda ruined the show despite what was said ("there's one bracket per possible score" ahahahahah as if.)
Hahahaha as a Zerg player i was hoping that Mondragon would win but as an American i wanted Nony to win. And i was confident that Mondragon would win after the first two matches. But Nony pulled an amazing victory which i did not see coming at all. Overall those matches were really greatly played and really intense, i even learned a few new things :D. And last comment is USA!! USA!! we have the largest metal count right now and tied for 3rd most gold metals and we can add we have a TSL champion too!
SICK FUCKING GAMES OMG!!!!!!! HERO GAMES!
Game 7 has fucking 16B....as soon as I saw who won game 5 I knew who won the series.
I avoided seeing the files sizes pretty easily using Utorrent and didnt get spoiled. I suppose they could have thrown in a decoy video but im pretty sure its so easy to avoid being spoiled that its not worth the extra file size.
Also, I wanna take this opportunity to congratulate and thank all of the TL staff and the TSL players for putting on such a sick fucking event. OH AND THANKS POKERSTRATEGY.COM!!! Ive been stuck here in MS for the passed couple months with no tv and no friends out here so Ive done nothing but keep my eyes totally glued to the TSL. Im definitely looking forward to any tourneys you guys run in the upcoming future for SC or SC2. And again congrats to nony and mondragon for putting on an excellent finals match. I can only imagine what my neighbors were thinking as I was yelling at my computer screen. THANKS AGAIN <3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NonY the foreign legend of SC1, shall be remembered forever!
This TSL final is truly great in terms of game-play quality by both players, the previous TSL final didn't impress me that much, but this one really delivered. I am sure even the Koreans would appreciate the high level of play by both these finalists.
Did one of the commentators say "those zealots can do a lot of damage" in every VOD? I think he says this in every game...
yup, first two games = awesome

TSL.....over....*sniff* !!!
Now I feel a little bit sad after this tournament is over... SC has been a game I play since I have been very young, but now it seems to be over...
The end of this tournament seems to mark the end of the BW scene, at least for me. A little bittersweet but it was a great series and I definitely enjoyed the whole tourney.
Starcraft has been the game I've been playing since I was 11 and I have to say that even after so many years, it still is enjoyable as it can be. Nony vs Mondi showed us what exceptional games are to be had if two monsters battle it out. Even though I'm European, I wanted Nony to win just because he managed to adapt so well to what Mondragon was throwing at him. Thank you TeamLiquid for the exceptional tournament and casted games, they enriched my life.

Too bad he is bm, and in this series and the one with idra didn't say gg after a game.

Nony beasted those last 4 games. Nuff said. But even though i <3 mondi that last game looked like he threw it away. not quite sure what his plan was having like 6 hatchs and only pumping out of 2 of them. Oh well it was great Gg's and congrats to them both

You don't know what you're talking about. Nony made it perfectly clear that he meant no disrespect in his interview with dj wheat. Everybody loves Nony because he's a great guy and not bm at all. Doesn't seem to stop him from owning people though :-)

The thing that I'm asking myself is if Nony intends to stream his SC2 games on livestream now, I really hope so!

yep who cares, stop getting worked up over a little gg.. his losses were frustrating, be understanding!

The games are a bit disappointing for a final.
The F91 series is much better.

i cant keep my eyes off of this, and my power just went out during the "Ninja Assasin" movie lol, i guess that movie can wait!!

Games were very good lol what are you talking about? I think they both played very, very well except for nony being careless with his shuttles and mondi's bad read of nony's build in game 6... Series were great, what do you mean by the F91 series? liquibition?

Omg great work guys! Saw the games yesterday with my wine bottles and it was aweeeesome.
+ Show Spoiler +Big creed for casting and ambition. Great play by NonY ...Now I know what every P is gonna DT me in iCCup. NonY adapted so fast and Monid couldnt do shit about it!
Cheers!

Great games, great casting, great final. Way to go TL.
I felt the casters did a wonderful job throughout the series, you guys are just getting better and better and really add a lot of flavor and knowledge for the majority of us watching at home. However I was surprised by the snide comment about those players who will never even get to D ICCup. That's probably a vast majority of your audience and I don't think it's really cool to rag on us like that. But I know it's the heat of the moment and all, great job with everything, really.

Great event! i saw it completely even my girl saw it in feb 14! LOL!!! Artosis said: ‘’there is nothing more romantic than watching the TSL whit your girl on your side!!’’ And I did it! LOL. Congrats to the hole TSL team, Thanks to pokerstrategy.com and to the super casting team!
Team liquid should make more leagues so we can see more events during a year, including an amateur one whit no money prize but whit a nice coverage like TSL.
MONNNNNNNNNDRAGON!!! you had the game man!!! and you made idra eat hes words about u!! great play man!! take time and go for corage!!! you have the potential man!!
Congrats nony you also made idra eat hes words!! and I think you should be more humble... mondragon almost 3-0 you... everyone saw that was very close... mondragon docent have nothing to prove after that. If u are a little more humble you dont have to worry if you lose because you know how life is... not always you win...
Congrats TSL team!!!! and gg all.

Nony had to pay all 3 MU's against super strong opponents, so hats off.. a very well deserved champion indeed.
