NATE MSL Group Ceremony Subs released!
November 30th, 2009 06:00 GMT
The TeamLiquid Fansub team is proud to present its second major release, the NATE MSL Group Selections! Writeup By Roffles Previous MSL Group Selections have always been entertaining, from spectacular player introductions (think dancing progamers) to trashtalking throughout the selection process. MBCGame has hyped us with the following theme for the Nate MSL: In the vast universe, many stars are formed and destroyed. The young and bright new stars are born all over the universe Those stars will show their brilliance and gain the strength to swallow the other stars Those bright stars begin to gather all in one place Then a fantastic and fierce battle occurs Only the two strongest will remain out of all the stars With a great mix of new school players, former champions, and seasoned veterans, one can only wonder which star will shine brightest when at the end of the day. The Nate MSL has introduced us to new maps, new faces, and even a new selection process. But even with all these changes, old traditions still held true. Be sure to check out some major trashtalk between the players, some hot potato action, and a girl at group selections!? Big props should be given to l10f, the main translator and timer for this project. Singlehandedly manning the group selections, which is around 3 hours long, is quite a spectacular feat. Timing every single line, of which there were probably 3000 lines, to audio takes quite a long time. So I want to give l10f a big shoutout for the work he's put into this project. While editing the subs, I've discovered that fansubbers out there are crazy people. The timing, translating, editing, styling, encoding process are all such tedious tasks. Every step along the way requires coordination, dedication, and perfection, just so the community can get the most out of its viewing experience. As a team, we've spent hours working on the subs, so we hope you enjoy it. While we're not perfect in anyway, we want to thank everyone out there that has been supporting us, and we hope you look forward to our future releases! Credits: Translator & Timer: l10f <--- Give this man your thanksEditor: Roffles Encoder: TOP Graphic: GTR How Do I Watch? To avoid the confusion we had last time with softsubs, we have opted to hardsub to make it easier for viewers. Thus, all you need to do is download the video, open it, and you should be able to view with subs! We recommend either VLC Media Player or GOM Player. All videos are hosted on Megaupload. We will upload onto other hosting websites and/or Teamliquid's own tracker if requested. Awesome and a huge thanks to everyone, especially l10f of course. A neat project that gives us more insight to the actual players and not the game.

I don't know how many times I've said it myself in the thread, but thank you l10f. You really deserve big props for your work on this one. Took me about 7-8 hours editing and that alone was just editing the grammar and stuff.
I don't even wanna know how long it took you to time + translate. Big props to you.

Hope you guys enjoy the release. I know I enjoyed watching it. =D

im watching right now, so cool!!!! thank you thank you thank you

This is a big surprise, thanks for all the hard work and time you invested. When watching the games you don't need to know korean, but when watching a group selection it gets frustrating because you know you're missing all the fun.
|
Does anyone else feel the group selection ceremony is way more fun to watch then the games?
|
ima watch this tmrw afternoon! thanks!
edit:you subbed it!
i love you.

We recommend either VLC Media Player or GOM Player.
You're killing me here GTR, killing me
l10f: Thanks for going above and beyond with this, the fact that you did something so long in so short a time is impressive. 3 hours worth of dialog is a daunting task!
|
Great job. Thanks for doing this!
|
Thanks alot l10f.
Also, can the soft subs be released anyway?
|
THANK YOU so much. I respect all the translators on TL so much. Love their dedication!

The MSL for sure, but the OSL was boring this year...
|
Thanks for release, but h264 in avi is eww...
Edit: not to sound like an ass, but some of the subs up top cant be seen (cut off) and some of the korean text (I assume) shows up as boxes.
Still a great release though, enjoyed it immensely

Still a great release though, enjoyed it immensely Definitely not H264. Definitely did XVid. We'll work on that. The subs cutting off up top are most likely my fault. I'll take that into consideration next time.
Thanks for the feedback.

I love you so much thanks for all your hard work
|
Oh wow, that's sick. Thanks!
|
|
This is awesome, Thank you so much!!!
|
Thanks for all that, must have been a pain to go through all of it and do the translations.
Best's reaction to the changes was definitely my favorite part of the whole thing, I loved how he kept begging others and bringing up that he doesn't want to go through preliminaries again.
|
amazing work, thank you very much!
|
|
Woot!! TL.net FTWWW!!!! But I would appreciate if someone could upload it to youtube : D

Thank you for subbing. (I know subbing is hard work).
I'm just curious... since I've noticed this on videos on youtube, etc, why the players are identified by their ID's rather than their real names? Since in the Korean matches/articles they're always identified by their real names. (Sorry if this is a noob question, I did attempt a search and I couldn't find a thread answering this).
|
Thank you!!! The commentators are hilarious, "trying to evoke extreme comments."
|
Thanks so much for doing this! It's so cool to see all the players together, and even cooler when you can actually understand what they're saying.

Which do you prefer:
Oh Young Jong recently defeated Shin Dae Geun on the Proleague match between ACE and Estro after his teammates Min Chan Ki and Park Jung Suk lost against their opponents.
OR
AnyTime recently defeated Hyvaa on the Proleague match between ACE and Estro after his teammates Ruby and Reach lost against their opponents.

Man, that's so nice. Thanks a lot!!!!

Guess because it makes a lot easier for us non-Korean speakers to identify them =D

I gotta say though, watching the vids after editing during the subbing process isn't much fun. It takes the fun out of watching leisurely.
Doh Jae Wook fighting!

HAHAHAH BEST really show his personality in this one.
|
Thank you very much, l10f and others. I was just thinking how much more entertaining SC would be if I knew what Korean programers were saying! Great work!

Again thanks for taking the time to sub.
|
Thanks a bunch guys!
ceremonies were disappointing, there was a lack of trash talking, but the Journey of Best made it worthwhile.
|
Thx much for this!
havent watched everything yet but, lol at best
|
LOL, The Selection is the most hilarious thing ever! I can't believe what we've been missing all this time! Thanks so much, again.
|
Wow, after watching this, i dont think anyone can call bisu arrogant. If anything he's really self-conscious of his play right now.
|
thanks for all this hard work, youtube vids must had some problem becouse didn't see the subs but the megaupload speed is awesome
|
wow just finished watching everything.
+ Show Spoiler + Gotta say Calm really hooked up his teammates (July,Hwasin, and somewhat Bogus), while he ended up with a harder group.
Very very entertaining regardless

Haha i love Best now. He's a cool cat. Late MSL Spoiler + Show Spoiler +Fuck yes. New Best Fan here. Never rooted for a protoss player, guy made it happen. Ro16 baby.
(Started watching MSL after i saw G-selection)
|
This is my first post because i'm quit bad for writing in english.
But i wished to thank you for this subed ceremony, this is awesome.
Moreover, go go Best !!!!!! Such a great personality :D. I will support much more SKT because of him.
|
Best is FREKIN hilarious. And Shine, I really like that kid now.
|
Crazy Hydra's my hero in the group selection. How much balls does it take to put on a wig and dance on stage?
|
I ROFL'ed at Best sucking up to Iris and Calm! He literally pulled bull crap out of his ass just to suck up to the higher seeders! I laughed out so hard!
He was so hilariously straight forward with his thoughts. His personality and expression also seemed to switch drastically every time that he switches groups. Oh, god, I never liked Best, but now I wish he can take this MSL.
+ Show Spoiler +The best personality switch was when he got all pumped up about fighting against Zerg after Jaedong gave Best an inspirational speech. And then right after that, he got placed in a non-Zerg infested group and he was suddenly like totally happy, forgetting what he just said a minute ago. Right after that, he got thrown into Zerg infested group again and he started crying about Zergs immediately afterwards. LOL LOL LOL.
