I am playing fairly well as either alignment when people play (like XXX), and while i heavily disagree with the outcome of that game because it was for shit reasons, i agree with it. But that game was actually a GAME, other games have felt like shit (in a sense that it's just -- boring) lately. deconduo game was good imo, except i didn't really get to play it because of the shit moosy pulled off. but it was a good game, for sure.
It is a miracle that it even was this close in the end. Eden was so unbelievably towny and he still got mislynched. The town lineup was next to impossible to defeat since it consisted almost entirely of player who are very easily townread. The only exception was prplhz and since town didn't know how mafia favored the setup really was he was considered confirmed town after the check. Koshis cop play was perfect.

i think that in a vacuum without prior knowledge of my scum games, most people would townread me for my play in this game?

I totally get this and btw I am not condoning pushing people too far, but I actually play to win. Most people, when mafia, do not. For me this means stuff like being willing to lie about IRL stuff, emotions, about moving house, about depression, about feeling alone in the world and giving up on mafia, or even about eating dinner. Most people have lines they're not willing to cross as mafia even though they're willing to cross those lines as town which is understandable but also unfortunate.
