Nothing more really to add on that front. Yea, I don't particularly like time-based bans because it doesn't treat people equally. Let's say you have someone like me who plays 2-3 games a year. If, in my last game, I got a 1 month ban, it wouldn't even matter since I haven't played a game in like 7 months anyways. If marv or rayn in their prime playing days got a one month ban, they would miss like maybe 4-5 games.

Historically, this is the reason that the community has gone for "1 game ban" instead of like, 3 week ban or whatever. For example, a common ban is for someone abandoning a game. (They sign up, play for 48 or 72 hours, then disappear). If this person shows up 3 months later and just signs up for another game, the "1 month ban" does nothing while the "1 game ban" has them sit a game out. Lots of people play only occasionally. That's not to say there aren't reasons we might want time rather than game based bans; but that's the reason the decision was made in the past, and on the other occasions this issue has been brought up. If you feel like banning based on games isn't great, and have other suggestions, that's a great reason to open a new thread to discuss it in, rather than post in the ban list which is probably best reserved for talking about bans.

It seems to me that banning new players is counter productive and once banned from a newb game they won't return if they have to sit out. However if they make it through all there games they skip the warning phase if they accumulated them in newb game and go straight to bans in Norm games. Just a thought. (Unless the newb did something dreadfully heinous)

That being said...where does that place repeat offenders for 'non-heinous' rule breaking? I hate to pick on Gumdrop here but he's a prime example. He's played in a grand total of two games so far. But in BOTH games he literally just disappeared D1 with no notice given to anyone. In the first game he got replaced (and if he hadn't got replaced then me and HtS who were mafia with him would have been in a very awkward position) and the second he got modkilled. I can understand not wanting to put people off whilst also teaching how to play; I myself derped quite hard in my first game by editing a post because I'm used to editing posts on this forum like fifty times before I'm happy with it but only got a warning for it. But if someone just keeps doing the same thing with no real excuse for it...
