Here's how I'm thinking about this - we already have a game with a somewhat gimped lynch (majority lynch) with at least one ability to cancel a lynch (controlled by town but still) and potentially more.
In the last couple of Greymist games the lynch was also pretty underwhelming, and town powers were supposed to make up for that. It's definitely not out of the question that damdred could have some anti-lynch power - one-shot lynchproof, suicide bomb/vengeful, vote redirector. It's also not out of the question that he's just claiming scum.
The thing is, we can't just let him live. So unless we have some really reliable way of either killing or investigating him tonight, we kind of have to lynch him anyway and just grit our teeth.
