yamato's bit on rayn not making townreads 5 minutes in reads like yamato town, silly thing to say if scum, and not in a good-silly way. Carefree comment, nonsense read based on nonsense reads, town. Especially since rayn thinks/thought that yamato might be mafia for being serious, yamato super town.

The important thing about the button to me is that it takes a night action to interact with it; this implies to me that many players have night actions so there is a tradeoff for button interaction. If players don't have night actions, I think they should usually guard the button since it grants more information.
Regardless of whether we think it's better to push or deactivate the button, I think it might be good to have a rotation of two or more people per night who promise to guard the button and report the following day what they saw. May give reads if their stories don't match up, but also prevents pressing/disabling the button. I don't have a firm idea of how this would work yet, but if it sounds like something to try then talk with me about it and we can work on the button defense draft.

Re: Balla - I took Balla’s suggestion for random voting to be a joke, but he sort of spends four posts addressing it. I don’t think it took as long as Dandel’s post, but when I read gumshoe’s post here (link) criticizing time spent without information gained it rang a little true for Balla as well.
Killing (& strongandbig) I didn’t get the gutread when I first read it, but when I read strongandbig’s post here (link) it resonated.

Oats is my strongest town read hes got several posts where hes asking questions and trying to get people focused on the game instead of just being silly (I mean fun is good but lets have fun and win as town too!)

I also feel like WOS whole weapons thing is a bit trolly but also I think harder to do as mafia than town in my mind so he gets a light town read for it.

Balla posting a random vote suggestion should not be taken as a serious suggestion, it just doesn’t match my view of his style at all. I could believe he wanted to develop reads from the post.

@tehpoofter: I know you are calling Balla a girl in those that post and I remember rereading another game where you did the same thing. Would you share your reasons for pretending to misunderstand his gender? Did it give you any reads or useful information in the other game?

I see this as null. Would you explain why you see role hunting regarding button as a slightly scummy move? It seems to me that button-related roles could be scummy as easily as they could be towny.

As for me, I’m new to forum mafia, I have played some real life games before. This is my only completed game on this site, it is relatively short if you care to read it.

Robik states that he is immune to nightkills. I read this as claim he is a 3rd party role because town would want to stay unclaimed to soak mafia KP. He could be 3rd party, he could be scum, but I don’t feel he is town.

I do not believe there is an item that requires Paperscraps write backwards.
Robik mentions that it would be a pain on Daniel (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/mafia/447045-catastrophe-mafia?page=36#704］link), as does marvellosity (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/mafia/447045-catastrophe-mafia?page=36#712］link), and that’s true. Syllogism correctly points out it is easy to automate reversing your posts (link).

But, these comments miss the stronger reason I do not believe him: the burden on the hosts. Hosts who would have to read each and every post carefully to ensure it is properly reverse-formatted. So, I disbelieve Daniel/paperscraps and feel it’s scummy.

For relevance sake, the only time I've ever gotten an item, I cleared a very bad looking mislynch candidate, correctly identified who gave me the item and cleared him, and led town to victory.

*Note: last part may be a bit of a stretch. We did win, and I was a big part of it, but I wouldn't actually say I carried or anything.
