right now i'd say he's likely town. his first hz case coupled with his advocation of a lurker lynch close to the deadline when there's no vote consolidation speaks to either a pretty transparent mafia player or a townie who's not very cautious to how he's being perceived.
if he's a pretty transparent mafia player, the vote on fuba would not be in line with previous behavior.
not as confident with this read as i am with grackapack -- would like to hear his current reads. previously everyone was operating under the assumption he was an overwhelmed newbie, but he's actually played quite a few games so it's very possible i'm underestimating him.

mb, JJD. i'm responding to this post:

Ideally just step back from the conflict? After all, I was the one who had to lead a counter lynch to lynch fuba. Scum don't want to be defending him, nor do they want to be prosecuting him. It would all be indirect. Biggest reasoning as to why me and Grack are town. i think whether they choose to prosecute him really depends on how they're evaluating risk/reward in the scenario. obviously as you and grack were the ones that put hard pressure where none previously existed you are town, unless that was some fucking brilliant play. but to the voters who followed you, no, i don't see avoiding the conflict entirely as the obvious overarching mafia strategy here. Do you agree JarJar is town for being the fourth to follow and therefore really pushing him into the limelight?

JJD, mig - who are your top candidates for tomorrow's lynch?

what are your thoughts on my asinine / LJ reads?
On November 02 2013 15:53 Bereft wrote:fwiw (which i know is not much) i had no intention of actually leaving my vote on pandain - thought i'd have time to come back before the deadline . am aware of what a total cop out afk vote it looks like and i understand the suspicion. right now, asinine and laughing jack are my top 2 lynch candidates for tomorrow. re: asinine while i don't find it scummy that he would push for hz over fuba (since that's actually in line with his main read for the entirety of day 1), he defends fuba instead of going on the offense on hz. i.e. he doesn't advocate why hz is a more solid lynch candidate or why hz is more probable scum. his long post mainly articulates why he doesn't like how quickly votes are piling on without a good case, which as a stand alone might be fair, but then it's followed up with this: Show nested quote +On November 02 2013 08:05 Asinine wrote: I would also like to clarify that I'm not saying fuba is town. I'm saying all the cases that have been presented to me regarding fuba are either weak(Pandain) or malevolent cherry-picking(hzflank). to me this implies he thinks fuba might be scum -- which then makes it weird that he was not at all open to fuba as a lynch candidate for consideration. the one thing that gives me pause is why he would fight so hard to defend an absent scum buddy. seems incredibly ballsy. re: laughing jack i don't quite buy his #idgaf attitude. if he were a newbie, sure. as a smurf vet - i don't think it'd be at all hard to feign. he initially says he has no read on hz but would want to vote hz since hz's flip would reveal the most information. but he doesn't change his vote and before he disappears appears to change his stance from lynch candidate of "active townie with many interactions" to "a more-than-1-liner lurker". I probably want to lynch into the first three quarters of of the day lurkers, but not 1-posters. fuba would be much more fitting of this description than hz. but then he comes back and votes hz right as the 07 train is gaining steam and pulling out of the station. i'm crashing now, but it's finally the weekend so i'll be around tomorrow.

ha, so basically you're saying my entire post is null.

i will follow grackapack to victory
##Vote: Asinine
|
yo dawgs oats is just confused about my gender. I'm actually a prepubescent dude.

I liked LJ for it, but now that he's willing to bet hat eating on asinine I'm having second thoughts.
I think its possible that (a) asinines mafia buddy is voting asinine, praying that you/any grackapack sheepers will jump on the bereft vote. (b) you or odin are asinines mafia scum buddy, notably odin who distances himself from asinine while he's going balls to the wall to defend fuba right before the deadline. (c) asinine isn't mafia after all, in which case I would be most suspicious of some kind of a LJ/poofter/hopeless combo.
|
@mig I don't think its that optimistic considering this game has some lazy sheepers.
the fact that asinine fought the fuba lynch tooth and nail but then volunteered to get vig'd because we're "so far ahead" & can't be bothered to defend himself now is weird though, admittedly.

sorry for the incredibly anticlimactic game guys .
day 1 we suffered from all being afk mtherfkers, and by the time I came back into the thread 20 mins before the deadline, I felt my hands were tied. while I never meant to leave my vote on pandain, to bus fuba would've put everything asinine had stuck his neck out for in vain, so staying afk seemed the least incriminating of options. after oats was shot it was almost impossible not to immediately throw in the towel.
|
too much pressure when you're too far ahead?
|
if defending asinine was the connection you were looking for, how could i have done that without sealing my fate?
game was pretty much lost -- it seemed like the best option was to hope you guys over thought and mind fucked yourselves.

true story.
On November 04 2013 07:07 Pandain wrote: Yo bereft was playing since 2010 why was she in newbies. She was playing with my old boys.
I have one possible solution but I'll see if she says it.
also pandain i missed this earlier - i joined newbies because i only played a handful of games almost 3 years ago and if this game was any indication i need the practice!
i noticed you had a slight town lean on me after day 1 which transitioned into a hardcore scum read on day 2. i know part of it was due to my absence (i lacked the motivation to fight it out once oats got vig'ed and an asinine lynch was practically a certainty), but was a large part from reading my newbie games??
there seems a lot more meta focus than i remember there being in the past..

ha, now that you've pointed it out, when i look back, the contrast is stark. funnily enough in my 1st newbie game i said this:
