Playing the newb card without actually apologizing is actually a great way to play if you can pull it off I think.

I also managed to have you and CC in the suspicion list also (although you both played extremely well it seemed). Unfortunately, I didn't really think about why OO would shoot me over you until I was dead. Eh, and my inital thoughts on austin were correct. Felkyr won't be able to get away with that sort of play from now on now that we know how he plays. Sad, sad times. I think the primary reason for the strong scumteams lately is the emergence of the "troll meta". That shit, as I was explaining to crossfire in the obs qt, makes the game absolutely unreadable early game. Shit just flies everywhere and everyone is just pissing everyone else off. I really wish we could overall have some sort of enforcement for it. That, and there are town players who could use more concise, more thought of posts. In other words, quality over quantity (looking at you raynp and axle, although axle's posting is a lot better than it was when he first started). The other half of town players have the oppostie problem of not showing up (me included). The players that were easy to read (and serious), such as kita and SnB, were killed off early as predicted. Towns right now seem too based off relying on the better town players to lead them (if you look at other current games activity falls off tremendously in lategame for town players) The scum list: Felkyr (Gabe Newell), Coagulation (Gordon Freeman), randombum (Blue), Clarity_nl (GreYMisT), Mr. Cheesecake (The Dimensional Lemming), Alakaslam (P-Body), austinmcc (iGrok), and ObviousOne (Fate Ninja) have achieved victory for Aperture Science! Felkyr, Coag, bum, Slam, austin, and OO all lurked a pretty decent amount this game, and they were not punsihed for it becuase of the lack of overall activity from town players after the best ones were killed off. I almost feel as though TL Mafia needs "improvement games", where the better players are actually not allowed in the game ( a bridge between newbies and vet games). Also, newbiegame like analysis could be written up after games possibly. Maybe that would get TL out of "i'm relying on marv, hapa, foolish, etc." kinda stuff I personally apologize to the hosts for not actually being able to play the game like I normally am able to (life just creeps up on you). It seemed like a really good setup. For me, it felt a little too complex and it was extremely difficult to catch up with all the different stuff going on (personally I would think you need to limit replacements to the first half of d1 greymist if you have a game this complex. Trying to form reads + understand the setup mechanics + keep up with a thread with 20+ players is realllllyyyy hard to do when you start from way behind).

Axle was the towniest poster at the end of D3. Risen was arguing for scum doublebus, hiro was part-arguing for that as well, Axle was just kind of sensibly pointing some stuff out and posting not in his usual style (at least as I remember the end of that day going). He was maybe doing some voting plan D1, occasionally questioning people, everyone seemed to forget about the rest of the game whenever anyone did a single noticeable thing.

I had Axle as megatown real early on. I don't know why people had such a huge issue with his posting in this game. I found him WAYYY more readable than usual. (Again maybe contrasting him with Alakaslam in my mind worked in his favour.) I think I forgot my own read of him when he pulled his shit on me yesterday though because it was such scum Axle. Oh man where is fuba? I know he replaced out but this would have been 3/3 won games for us!

In a sea of stupid, some one that is still posting somewhat decently that late into the game has to know what's going on, so I figured he had outside info. It wasn't a great lynch but not as bad as you make it out be; there were definitely reasons in place to suspect axle. same reasons apply to people such as clarity, etc. still posting that well that deep into the game is cause for concern imo

Also some hidden notes, in particular regarding the Cocoon of Destiny The Cocoon was the only role in this game that would change its wincondition if certain conditions were met. This all had to do with a story that me and crossfire came up with about its origins. The story is: the old mafia player, Dreamflower, was tired of humility, and decided to gain power by entering the cocoon. If the fate ever reached 6 I think it was, she would emerge as a serial killer. If it ever got to -4 (again, i think) she would become the role we know as dreamflower, which is a compulsive vigilante that dies in the place of her target if she shoots town (her win con would become town aligned). We balanced the fate so that her serial killer role (the harder one to win with) would result if she used the easier of her abilities a lot. whereas the easiest of the 3 wincons (win with town) would result from her not using them. Thus creating an interesting story and dynamic I Might tell you guys what CHAOS REIGNS did, but i need to decide first if im going to retire that role. I might use a variation again.

Death Factory sounded like fun but way way way too much work for you guys, and I feel like you would have had to alter it so much. Did you have a plan for that one like a shrunken board or powers translating over? Would there have been items? Never actually read World at War, gotta go check that one.

Crossfire99 is a big reason of why this game went rather smoothly. His insistence that he know exactly how to run the game in the event I dissapeared helped me get my ideas of how things resolved out of my head in on paper. He is a great Cohost and someone I would turn to if I knew I needed a game done right.
