Carefully adjusting a timepiece, he braced himself for the end. There was no salvation for him. He had designed the ship to be weak, unsafe... hubris and incompetence, joined hand in hand, had done this to two and a half thousand innocents. The water would come soon. There was darkness. And then nothing but the most unholy sound he had ever beheld. Soon, Aquanim would be falling away from the hundreds of people still clinging to their lives. Soon, he would be with his greatest failure, finally at rest. jrkirby had long run out of flares. Indeed, with each one winking out, his despair had only risen. Sentinel had given up from the start. He took his whiskey and returned to the bridge, where some mysterious individuals had gone for him. But 'twas not over yet. Kirby took some of the whiskey along with him. Throwing out several deck chairs to aid those who were and would soon jump into the water, their final attempt at salvation, he would give them every chance they could have for life. He climbed over the top of the stern of the wailing ship, and rode it down like an elevator. He didn't even get his hair wet thanks to the lifejacket. The whiskey had indeed helped him, as he barely felt the coldness of the water. It would save him, only just. Waddling his way to the overturned Collapsible B, he would cling onto the boat-turned-raft and await whatever came for them. He would be safe here. It was all over. The ruffians had won, but what had they won? Stutters spared it no second thought. It was every man for himself, and there were no more ruffians or honest men anymore. Just primal beings struggling to survive in a sea of death. And to survive, Stutters punched the hands of justanothertownie, who swiftly fell and bounced off the propeller. Taking his place, Stutters mounted the stern. But there was no ruffians anymore. FirmTofu immediately vied in the same way Stutters did, attempting to secure his own space on the rails by ousting Stutters. The ship was almost at 40 degrees now, and it was not an easy task. Stutters also resisted, making the task even more complex. Finally, FirmTofu gave one huge lunge upwards, grasping the railing while flying away, then flexed his arms. The momentum knocked Stutters, caught unawares with a powerful headbutt to the nose, and saw the bleeding man slip down the ship's stern and to the black death below. The two remaining ruffians and four remaining townies clung to the stern and made their final prayers. Oatsmaster was unfortunate, as he clung to the wrong side of the rails. The momentum of the ship swamped him, and he was unable to fight the frigid waters and terrified bodies to rescue himself. raynpelikoneet, ever a patron of the arts, managed to find the cellist's cello, and bust open one side. It would be a makeshift boat until help would come. For a few minutes, at least, he would live. clarity_nl got sick watching JAT bounce off the propeller, and lost the will to hold on. He promptly fell off the stern and bounced off the propeller. hzflank activated his lifejackets, all sewn together under his person. Within moments a white raft appeared under him. He was now a man tied to a mattress. He allowed himself to fall back into the water. Unfortunately, the raft hit a rope on the way down and flipped upside down. He was in the water, and the way the lifejackets were positioned rendered hz unable to reposition himself. He drowned to death Drifting back to the surface, FirmTofu managed to climb on top of a door. Funny. This was the same door that he first opened when he stepped out onto the boat deck. How absurd the procedure had been then. Ditching his spent flare gun to rid himself of weight, he clambered aboard. Now where were his friends? Ah. Captain Jack Sparrow, floating alone. Maybe he could save at least one of his newfound compatriots. Paddling over to him, Jack also saw FirmTofu, and began to swim to him. Jack put one, then two clammy hands on the door... "Hold on, Jack, please..." Struggling, using the last of his breath, to try and mount the door alongside his friend... "Promise me you won't let go of me... don't let go..." "I won't let go, Jack. I won't let go." But it was too late. Jack closed his eyes for the last time, and joined his fellow ruffians at the bottom of the sea. FirmTofu the Pickpocket, Malongo the Ruffian, Stutters the First Class Passenger and Captain Jack Sparrow the Football Captain win! Also being two amazingly friendly people. Thanks to all who played for making this entertaining! (esp. rayn with 44 page filter) Flavor and game-making inspirations from James Cameron's 1997 "Titanic" movie, the 1943 Nazi "Titanic" movie, ReinXeed's "1912" power metal album of 2011, and pretty much every artist who's painted a picture of the Titanic sinking so I can make pretty headers on my day/nightposts! The fate of Sentinel, Sentinel, and Sentinel will be discussed in a future game of mafia! jrkirby's fate is 100% historically accurate except it was the cook, not chief officer, the latter of which died sometime before the sinking. The cook actually survived in the water for two hours due to the huge amount of whiskey he drank. GG | ||
