For a time they had thought that they could escape the city with their riches, but little did they know that the upper Echelons of the mafia management did not care about their lowly minions. HiroPro was long gone, never to come back. He may have well been in another country. It was when Snarfs was reduced to living on sewer rats that he realized that monetary riches mattered for little in a society dominated by the mob. It was only a matter of time, then, he reasoned, until they found him and made him pay for his crimes with his life. To retain what remained of his dignity, Snarfs submitted himself quietly to the custody of 3 men who found him in his starved state. They, however, felt no mercy. MrZentor lifted the first fist in the pulping of Snarfs. ghost_403 and Artanis[Xp] joined in until nothing but a bloody mess of meat and bones remained. Ultimately, the victory was bittersweet. What was left? The three men knew that their lives would never be the same. They had learned the perils of citizen on citizen war. They had learned what it was like to feel true fear in the face of a crisis; an emergency. Snarfs the mafia roleblocker has conceded. MrZentor, town one-shot roleblocker, ghost_403, town cop, and Artanis[Xp], vanilla town have survived Emergency Mini Mafia. General Notes: I will be changing my policy on modkills and replacements for future games, given that I can no longer trust the honor system to keep the integrity of my games. It was unfortunate, particularly for the mafia team, that furerkip disappeared and that Palmar was modkilled for not voting. Palmar's modkill came at a time where mafia would have won without it. I was not around and I personally wouldn't have modkilled Palmar there, but HiroPro followed the guidelines and rules written in the OP. Thus I am at fault and I do think there needs to be a change for such situations. I will most likely eschew modkills altogether and simply take reliable replacements until d3 or so. After that point I will leave everything up to the players (or up to popular demand) as most of the time in these types of situations, things like policy lynches are designed to deal with such players. I will be seeking a 2 game ban for furerkip given that he never responded to any of my PMs and did not try to communicate with his team. His team played well given the circumstances and would have won if it were not for mod influence. For that, I apologize to both Snarfs and Navillus. Secondly, there was a mod mistake on day 2: Hyaach did not receive a majority of votes and thus should not have died. That day should have ended in a no-lynch. My apologies to Hyaach in this situation. Town General Notes This game was marred by really bad town play. Ultimately the game may have ended in a town victory, but if you were on the town side, do not consider it as such. On day 1 Pandain fake claimed vig, which is in itself a very poor play. I recall thinking to myself, “good luck with the shitstorm this will cause, Pandain,” and surely enough day 1 was thrown by town self destructing. However, anyone who was on the town side at this time should have seen and realized that mafia very very rarely do such a bold and self destructive move on day 1. Remember that the standard impulse to a stupid move is to lynch the person who made it. This would have been confirmed by how fast and hard the wagon on Pandain started. Generally, the less resistance there is to a lynch, the more likely it is that the target is a townie. I am not greatly familiar with Pandain's meta but from what I have read he is not a scum player like VE or myself. He does not generally do these types of things as scum, and so it's safe to assume (as with MOST other players) that an alignment-null and chaos-causing play such as this is possibly even indicative of him being town. Ignoring the day 1 vig fake claim we had the VE miller claim, which was 100% the correct play to do. VE handled the situation well and anyone who was even half reading the thread should have realized that VE was more likely to be town than scum in that situation. It wouldn't have been impossible for VE to do this as scum, but the manner in which he handled it made him look town. It showed in the fact that the only real suspicion on VE came from scum themselves. In fact, the Kenpachi rule took effect spectacularly (and as well later with something else that I'll touch on) as furerkip called out the miller claim in the only play he made all game. Furerkip illogically shed doubt on VE's miller claim and made it seem like only a thing scum would do, when in fact it was the 100% optimal move for a town miller to make in that situation. This should have set off alarm bells in the heads of town, but sadly barely anyone noticed. Assuming day 1 would have been a wash because of Pandain, one could have hoped that the future cycles would see town fare better. Indeed, that night was very good for town because of Katina's excellent roleblock of Blazinghand. Blazinghand claimed vig during the action resolution phase, but Katina had already sent in the roleblock, meaning that BH did not know his shot would not go through. This was a crucial moment for town because mafia shot BH the same night. As BH was one-shot bulletproof, no one died. At the same time, hyaach the town jailkeeper was roleblocked, which created an even more interesting situation as the only town protective role was nullified that night. Hyaach should have thought of three situations here: either BH was the SK or BH was mafia who was roleblocked, OR there was another jailkeeper who chose to protect BH. Based on these 3 cases, and given Hyaach's knowledge, the third was the least likely. This would mean there was a vig and two jailkeepers on top of a miller, and potentially other roles as well. Being a jailkeeper himself made this far less likely than the first two explanations. Given the setup, at any one time it was possible for there to be four simultaneous roleblocks, two night kills, and a cop check. The way the actions happened on n1 favored town because of Katina's excellent play and an unfortunate choice on the part of scum. Ghost received a town check on hyaach on n1, in the meantime. (only to have him lynched the next day) So, with d2, why on earth was hyaach lynched over BH? If anyone took a careful read of the thread, BH's story was never consistent. He seemed to overly focus his efforts on explaining what happened instead of finding scum...... (to be continued later, I have to hop off to class. I'll put up the remaining days of analysis, some short player-by-player specifics, mafia notes, and commendations when I'm back tonight.) | ||

My thoughts on the players I was following are below. Furerkip - Saying that you are fine with lynching townies is extremely dangerous (people will pounce on this every single time). And arguing that VE is "retarded" is a very silly thing to do, especially since it reinforces the notion that you are looking to lynch "dumb townies", not scum. People gave you the benefit of the doubt but that was really lucky. And why would you lie about some simple game fact... Palmar - Handled the accusations against you easily. Not much to say. Hyaach - If you were busy irl early on, then when you come back, give an explanation for your behavior and actions and try to move on. You need to work on establishing your innocence. Because of your inactivity and unsupported posting early on, you were an easy target. You did well in finding posts from BH that showed inconsistency and scummy behavior. But you needed to spend a little more time explaining your thought process on why BH was scum and focusing on actual behavior. Too much of your defense revolved around "I am JK" and "I wouldn't lie about being roleblocked". These are things that mafia can also easily say. Also, just because zelblade suspects you and seems a little unsure on what to do doesn't mean that he is mafia. Focus on your main scum target and then if it looks like you have no chance of surviving the lynch, give out all your reads before you die. Zelblade - Nice catch on furerkip's statements. It's a pity that he got replaced. You had some good reads early on; you needed to be a lot more active and push them though. It doesn't matter if you have the right ideas if you're not actually doing anything to make other people agree with you or establishing your own innocence. BE MORE ACTIVE. After you came back, it wasn't good. But honestly that was to be expected after missing so much and having everyone come after you. | ||

Thanks to the hosts .First scum game and I was not kidding when I said it was way more stressful for me than town T_T. I kept looking back at things I was saying and kicking myself for saying them. Wish I could have done better, but I already feel like this experience will help my future scum play... that's kinda why I just wanted the game to end, time to move on and do better in the next one! Artanis, you were way too damn towny. Stop that! But I don't know why you guys convinced yourselves I wasn't scum based on my meta. I'd never played scum before... there was no meta to compare  .Ghost properly calling out the fact that I'd asked people for previous games but never referenced them was one of those "Oh fuck" moments for me. Fortunately, noone else brought that up again... Hyaach, sorry for pushing your lynch when you'd done nothing scummy. I actually felt really bad T_T. I'm not cut out for scum life haha. Honestly, I spent way more time on this game than my posting reflects. Many times I'd spend a couple hours reading the thread and writing out a post, only to delete it and turn my laptop off because I didn't want to stick my head out. Rookie scum mistakes like that will be improved upon for next time and are my biggest takeaway. Anyways, fun game nonetheless. Thanks again wbg, HiroPro and ET. | ||

As a thought, Zelblade, part of the reason I attacked you was that I thought you were a bit scummy, but the other reason is that I felt like you weren't active enough to defend yourself, and hadn't established yourself as town, so I might be able to lynch you. | ||
