Inexperience mostly. What I was reading as "wild logic and random accusations" was just active townie behavior. I came to my senses when Matt set me straight for like the 4th time that I should be looking for motivations, and not tunneling on perceived scumslips. When I re-read your filter today, it finally all clicked together.
Never clicked for me on willz though. willz play had me confused all fucking game.

Oh hey, I nailed that N1 Xatalos framer theory too (imallinson thought Hiro was DT), along with Dittert's ArcticFox check.
A surprising proportion of the ObsQT thought Xatalos was scum for a long time. I felt quite alone for a while
