players like you lose games for town. fosing around without any reasons. why dont you use your brain before you post. i didnt attack you in the slightest. i didnt put words in your mouth. i only wanted that you tell me why you dont say that you like rads plan. its so simple. now take your incredibly stupid fos back stop derailing and answer my question: why are you talking with no content? If you're town then why are you forcing a disussion on this topic which is 100% useless and nothing but a distraction for town. my fos is valid and it's not the fos'd ones job to question it. It's funny how someone who tells me to "think" before "I" post doesn't have time to reread your own and mark it!!
oh no risk... you did it again. Posting with no content. i don't force a disturbing discussion, I want to know why you don't say that radfields electing himself and palmar plan is good. and again: Your FoS on me actually is disturbing and stupid. You cannot have a read on me, because I didn't do anything yet. Plus I am town and your read on me - if you actually had one - would be wrong.

Noobs! get active! I need someone to talk to.

Arc left out whether he will abide by Radfield's guidelines or risk.nuke's suggestions if he becomes pardoner. For the record, I am uncomfortable with the idea of exceptions, especially vaguely worded ones like "last minute vote" switch. Radfield's policy is to prevent pardoner from having too much power.
Similarly, I believe we should impose a policy restriction on mayor that Radfield omitted in his mayor election post. If two people are within 2 or even 1 vote count of each other, I think mayor should not interfere and make the 2nd place suspect the lynch instead. Letting the mayor have essentially 3 votes that he can abuse from day 1 seems like a bad idea.

K, couple points I have from reading last night's posts:
1. The role of pardoner seems really prone to WIFOM. I agree on the no pardoning rule and that any pardon is reason for a lynch. The exception pointed out by risk.nuke does need some consideration. If there is a mass vote switch for some reason, and the pardoner feels like a pardon is necessary, they should have to justify it very well to everyone else. If they can't justify the pardon well enough to make us believe they are acting in the best interest of the town, their neck will definitely be in a noose before nightfall. risk.nuke's exception: + Show Spoiler +Exception 1. mass last minute vote switch. Questionable Exception 2. Everyone agrees on lynching someone, then occurs a last hour voteswitch when some keyplayers are unavailable.
2. Even though there is a battle of the titans for the mayoral slot currently going on, there are a few people who are using the election mayhem to slip under the radar (or so it seems). These people are just as likely to be scum as the rest of us, but without them posting, we have no idea. I'll try to pressure some of the lurkers, but even the big candidates need to pay attention to them as well. It'll be better for the twon if we can get everyone involved in the discussion as much as possible.
3. Kind of an idea from me. Because the voting is done in a separate thread, votes could easily be made without gaining the attention of the debaters in the main thread. If we had everyone post in the main thread why they are casting their vote and for whom before casting their vote it might help make the connection between the debate and the actual votes a little clearer. To start off I'll cast my vote: I'm voting for Radfield in the election right now because he is one of the more active players in the thread. I really don't have much else to base my vote on, but know that it will probably change several times before the day ends. I encourage everyone else to announce their vote on the main thread too.
4. I'd really like some of the less active candidates to post their views too. Right now the debate is centered on Radfield/Arctocod/ProfBA because they're actually posting and expressing their views. if you guys want to win some votes, you're going to have to be more active than them, because they've already got some momentum.
More from me later today after some more discussion topics have arisen.

All this policyshit is irrelevant. We judge the isolated case. I am certainly not that naive that I think I could stop the stampede if someone actually pardons someone, but I for one will judge every single case individually.

No, we would never use the pardons. While I could come up with scenarios where that is the right thing to do, it's likely better to allow for no exceptions.
|
For the lurkers in the thread, maybe a couple questions would get some activity:
1. What do you think of the No Pardon, No Exception rule?
2. Give your specific impressions of the campaigns so far, especially the major ones.
Remember, the more you get into the game you're playing, the more fun it is! :D

I will be voting for arctocod for the election, he has been the most active of all the candidates and I veiw him as most in danger of being shot night one

Heyo, I'm back from being a sleep. Reading four pages and now going to try and comment on them....
First thing I saw, was Arcto you said something like "because of this I'm really trying to get pardoner!" and your next post had "vote for me for mayor!" Just wanting to make sure, you still want to be pardoner right? You just want the votes to get that spot?
Secondly the Dues-ex vs risk.nuke is good, I like see'ing two players argue about anything. Its quite helpful. In this argument I think Dues-ex is more logical, but there getting off topic from the election / lynch.
Radfields comments are again good. I'm getting like this pure read from him for now. Just seems legit.
Greymist why are you saying who you are voting of for sure alreaedy? Why Arctocod and not radfield? I agree that the veteran hydras are definetly in danger of getting shot first though because of their experience. Its pretty frustrating to have to write that though. Because it means I really don't have much of an honest reason to run for Mayor.
I still feel like I'd be great at the position, and like arctocod said, maybe I would be. But, I'm not going to be an obvious target for mafia first shot.. I hope... (If I am, I'm killing you arcto!) I still really love the idea of being able to affect this game in more ways then just voting, but I didn't realize how the elections were working.
The new information that Mayor / Pardoner are for life (I think most of us thought it was for one day or two days only or something?) and that tomorrow we vote on new roles is pretty cool. I think we should save two veterans who have good townie "feels" about them. I'd like to hear a lot A LOT more from the lurkers. ProfBA has the lamest campaign ever, but the coolest picture for it. Dues ex are you running as well? I just don't remmeber.
And cascades, did you choose your name because of juggling? I'm just blindly curious as its the first thing you learn to do as a juggler, and curious if your a fellow juggler? XD!

Hey Dues-ex I'm active yo, whats up?

I'll be voting either Radfield or Arctocod, using my vote to put as many of them in office as I can.
@zeks Hey, you said that you'd like to lynch a hydra or a mayor candidate, so you want to lynch either Radfield, Arctocod, ProfessorBadass, DEUS-ex-MAFIA or TotallyNotTwoPeople? Hydras because your sixth sense tells you that one of these are scum and mayor candidates because you think that scum has at least one candidate running? Am I understanding this right?

I'm learning so many new acronyms and double checking my spelling a bit. If nothing else, mafia is teaching me to be better at English. Ok, so I didn't mention anything about the pardoner situation.
I think there should be a 0 tolerance rule on using the pardon. You shouldn't be able to use the pardon for anything. With one exception. If the majority of town agrees you should use it. Technically if the majority of town agrees that you should use it, we should have the right person lynched. However if something crazy occurs we can use this, or if last minute we all decide to change our votes because of something obvious thats come to our attention. However these are both REALLY case specific things. So I'm sticking with just DONT USE the pardon, Unless we all decide to use it together or we kill pardoner next round.

Heyo Prplhz! How do you feel about both Radfields and Arctocods campaigns ? Anything that's making you lean one way or the other?

1. It's a great idea, the pardoner would be a devastating role for the mafia if they were allowed to pardon fellow members.
2. I think Arc should be mayor. This would mean protecting two active, experienced people with one role
I'm not even going to try running for an office...

If the mayor was the first to be killed in the day one post, and then the mayor spot is up for grabs, does that mean that the other spots emptied in the day one post will be the roles in the future elections?
|
Sheth: Palmar posted the "campaign post" and it's not really even in our control anyway which spot we get. However now that I know the BGs will keep protecting us beyond night 1, I'm not quite as sure which one I consider stronger, so I doubt I'm going to request to elect us to a specific position.
Sheth I don't see how the elected position allows you to affect the game in more ways than just voting given that we aren't going to use pardons and mayor only has one extra anonymous vote which will not play an important role until late game.
It would be helpful if we could get past this election discussion today because all this talk of policies and candidates isn't particularly informative, especially with there being several rather obvious candidates.

The day post was purely flavor.
