Coaches:
Ver and Qatol have agreed to be town-oriented coach for this game. However, Qatol should be your emergency-backup coach, as he is often busy!
Coagulation and RebirthOfLeGenD have agreed to help coach the scum team for this game. All you scum players looking for tips can bug them both nonstep for help at your leisure. :D
Note that coaches will not play the game for you, but feel free to bounce analysis and ideas off of them, and ask for help if you really don't know which direction to go. They're here for you! Use them!
Introduction:
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox.
6. Posting any PM you receive from a host.
7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
9. Using anything other than your in-game resources as a bargaining chip in the game. "If Bob isn't red, you can lynch me" is okay, but "If Bob isn't red, I'll pay you $100" and "If Bob isn't red, I'll delete my TL account" are not.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.
Smurfs / Shared Accounts / Coaching:
Smurfing is when you sign up for a game using an account other than your standard one for the purpose of hiding your identity. If you are smurfing, I ask that you notify both of the hosts when you sign up for the game.
Sharing an account is not allowed in this game. Sharing an account is defined as more than one person having access to an account and using it for the purpose of playing the game.
We have a nice selection of coaches for this game! Make use of them!
If it is found that you have been smurfing or account sharing without notifying the hosts, you will be modkilled and punished as per the banlist rules. In addition:

Activity:
You must post in this thread once per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled.
Spam:
Spam is not tolerated, nor is any off-topic material. Do not discuss Proleague here. Do not talk about Starcraft II here. Play Mafia here.
Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything
Inappropriate posts:
If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM a host before involving the TL staff. If you are unsatisfied with how the situation is resolved, then you can appeal to the TL staff normally.

Voting rules:
1. Voting is done in a separate thread located here. Please keep votes there, and only vote there. Do not PM me your vote.
2. Please vote in the following format: ##Vote Qatol. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update vote counts whenever I get the chance.
3. No conditional voting.
4. You may vote for yourself. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. In the event of a tie the person with the most votes first is lynched.
6. Voting is mandatory. You may not abstain.
Signups:
You may only play in one game other than this one, regardless of size. Signups will remain open until all 30 spots have been filled. You are welcome to sign up as a backup if you are not currently able to play.

Modkills:
This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment.
Clues:
There are no clues.
PMs
PMs are not allowed in this game.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a 24 hour night/48 hour day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is 8:00 PM PST / 11:00 PM EST / 12:00 PM KST/TL Time.

Roles:
This is a semi-open setup. All roles will be disclosed, but role counts will remain hidden. Read this section carefully, it may be subject to change.
The roles below may not all appear in the game, but there will be no roles that aren't on this list.
Please note: all roles with night actions please send a PM detailing your action to both myself and GMarshal. The results of all night actions will be returned with the posting of the next day post.
Townie
You are a townie! You may not have a special role, but you are the base of the town and have the power to bring wrongdoers to justice. Your job is to use teamwork and analysis to hunt down and lynch the mafia.
Miller
You're an innocent townie, but you have a tendency to act a little creepy and always seem to show up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Any detective checks on you will return Mafia Goon.
Detective
You are a detective! Your job is to use your sleuthing skills to determine the true nature of players friend and foe. Every night, you may check a player to find their alignment and role.
Day Vigilante
You are a vigilante! You are willing to take the law into your own hands. Unlike the Night Vigilante, your balls are made of steel, so you are willing to carry out your plans in broad daylight! Once per game, during the day, you may type in the thread ##Kill: Player in order to attempt to take the life of that player.
Medic
You are a medic! You can use your medical expertise to protect your fellow players. Every night, you may select a player to protect from a night hit. You may not protect yourself. If you save a player from a hit, you will both be notified of your success (you will be kept anonymous). Each medic protection is the equivalent of one hit – if a player takes two hits while being protected by one medic, they will die. If you protect a veteran, your ability takes precedence over theirs.
Night Vigilante
You are a vigilante! You are willing to take the law into your own hands. Once per game, at night, you may PM me a player to be killed. If your kill overlaps with a mafia hit, your ability will not be used (unless the player has some form of protection). If your kill overlaps with another vigilante, the first hit sent in will take precedence (again, unless the targeted player has protection).
Veteran
You are a veteran! Your military experience gives you a second life. It takes two successful hits to take you down. You will be informed if you lose one of your lives. Your ability still works with Day Vigilante hits. Lynches still kill you as normal.
Mafia Goon
You are scum! Your goal in this game is to deceive and destroy the town. You win when you outnumber or equal the town-aligned players.
Mafia Godfather
You are the nefarious leader of the mafia. The mafia chooses the godfather from amongst themselves on night 1. The godfather chooses a role to appear as when role checked. Once chosen, the false role cannot be changed.
Mafia Roleblocker
You are a mafia roleblocker! Every night, you may choose a player whose active night action you will prevent. Players will be informed that they were roleblocked regardless of whether or not an ability was actually prevented. Passive abilities, such as the veteran's extra life, are not affected. Blocked night vigilantes, if they chose to shoot on the night they were blocked, will retain the ability to shoot another night.

You can start this whenever, but I'd wait for some of the other games to finish or get close (survivor, newbie mini mafia, sleeper cell) in the interest of not having people in multiple games.
I think it's fine if people play this game as well as Caller's game. Of course, you're the host and you get the final say on people playing multiple games.

It's fine with me if people play in this and one other game, as long as they can keep up the activity. It'll start as soon as it's full, and I imagine it won't fill up until some of those games are wrapped up. No worries. ^^
