They will have to create a new thread, as I don't think TL code allows for someone else to edit another's posts (or give ownership of the post to someone else). And that sounds like a lot of work to bug a higher up for...easier to just create a new thread, which is what we've done for all the ban lists. Also Damdred will be taking over the job unless someone else wants to. In that case I may do the sensible thing and perform a strategic background analysis on all contenders to determine who would be the best person to take over. I may also do the less sensible thing and have you play rock paper scissors  + Show Spoiler + I've also done a fair job at keeping this thread in topic, and a good way to do that is to not feed the trolls. So let's not feed the trolls, especially the ones who are obviously fishing to be fed | ||

The only thing I think is worth keeping no matter what is having a constant stream of normal mini games (9-13 players) going with proven balanced setups (both in theory and in practice). | ||

The ideal sticky for this subforum would be something similar to what Race Bannon attempted, except this time with strictly adhered-to 1 post per host policy. Think of the practicality of having something like a hosting news paper, with the original post as front page (news 0Paper), available to communicate the full range of hosting project progress at a glance, with links to the individual post of each active host, incorporating an anchor bb code to link to. I don't recommend Damdred to be in charge of updating it either (again, fully aware of weightlessness), as I've noticed his lackluster availability and effort when I read his 72 hours game. If anyone I think Coagulation should be given the honors of owning the OP. He has proven his commitment and whatever is required to be right for the privilege, barring playing and hosting some games here as well, not just his site; and we should rally behind him and hassle the mods to convey that we really want it to be stickied, and this thread unstickied, should he promise to start playing and hosting here. It saddens me to see games without flavor, but I guess that's my problem. I hope my game which I'll post later today will set a minimum standard, and convey my trolling-devoid intentions to constructively shape and commit to this site's hopefully soon-to-be smart and innovative approach to forum mafia subforum management. | ||

For reference, here is the hosting PM that I'd send out prior to a student game being hosted. + Show Spoiler + Next iteration is " Newbie Student Mafia XYZ". You can run it as a 9 or 11 player game and use a standard setup like F11, 2of4 or C9++. Or you can generate your own 9-13 player setup using the roles below: Town: Sane Cop Doctor Jailkeeper Vigilante Veteran Miller Scum: Godfather Roleblocker Rolecop Framer However, if you generate your own setup, please run it past either myself, or anyone from the balance team: Foolishness and Blazinghand Please make sure that you have a co-host that can cover for you during deadlines. If you are unable to find one, let me know. Coaches may be selected at your discretion. Prior to starting, it is recommended that you send out a confirmation pm along these lines: You are receiving this PM because you are currently signed up to play Student Newbie Mini Mafia XYZ. Mafia can be an extremely time consuming game and it is recommend that you have an adequate amount of free time before joining. You will be expected to read the entire thread, post several times during each 48 hour vote cycle and vote before the deadline. Failure to do say may result in your removal from the game. The game is balanced around every player being active and inactivity from a single player can ruin the experience for everyone involved. Hosts, coaches, and players all spend their free time to make sure things run smoothly, so please make sure to inform the hosts if you are unable to post for an extended period of time or if you require a replacement. First off I dont think my games were badly hosted, and checking and running this thread isnt as demanding. Second I have created and hosted 3 themed games and believe I am qualified to look at and help talk about balance with hosts. Third talking about hosting coming from you is hilarious. | ||
