EDIT: As to what JAT was saying in the first place, i agree. There should be a normal game open for signups all the time. As in how he describes "normal", certain people don't like IML/DML, just like certain people don't like no-flips which also could be considered "normal".

It just so happened that hapa's game has a bit of a twist (maybe happens 10% of the time) and the newbie game was slightly themed (happens once every few years). For both of those things to happen at the same time is pretty rare and unfortunate for a normal game player who wasn't able to signup for Shin Megami in time and might have to wait an extra week or two, but overall I think things have been pretty consistent.

There have been a lot of games recently who tried to disguise themselves as normal to get into this queue and weren't normal at all - I said that multiple times and usually I also nentioned this when the games in question were hosted. I would not start a discussion like this over one game.

I would not start a discussion like this over one game. meh if we look over the past 6 months I'd say these were all normal (23): Mini Mafia Down Under 3, Desert Center Vanilla, TL Mafia LXXII: Gaiden 2, Newbie Student Mafia XIV, Completely Normal Generic Mini Mafia, Battle of the Drams Mafia, Student Mafia XV, Student Mafia XVI, Starfox 64 Mini Mafia, Mini Mafia: The Vanilla Experience, Student Mafia XVII, Dark Tournament Mini Mafia, Really Small Mafia II, TL Mafia LXXIII: The Nutcracker, Newbie Student Mafia XVIII, OUTLAW MINI MAFIA, Unoriginal Name Mini Mafia, Rayn's let's be nice mafia, Rayn's let's be nice mafia take 2, Newbie Student Mafia XIX, Star Wars: The Mafia Awaken, Shin Megami Tensei Mafia And these were normal with a "twist" (3): Tropical Storm Mafia, New Smurf Mafia, Noir Mini Mafia So like I said, I don't think it happens a lot. I get that you don't want something like smurf (or maybe the micro games?) on the normal queue, but we only average like 1 themed game a month as it is so taking up a themed slot is just as annoying for other players. Even if "normal with a twist" games had their own queue, it wouldn't really impact the number of strictly normal games hosted since we usually stick to 1-2 games open for signups as a time anyways.

This does not make any sense. If we average 1 themed game a month that is because there is no demand for more. It is not like you could not host more themed games without using the normal mini queue for it.

My game had one late deadline that was the endame deadline where my internet died. The one daypost before that I posted to stop posting at the deadline and triple checked my PMs to make sure of the actions I had as if the doctor didn't make a save the game was over was 5 minutes after deadline if want to count that also. This was after the game took 2 weeks longer to start than was expected causing problems like my medical procedure followed by 48 hours of travel to Thailand which then gave me a 6 am deadline with unreliable internet. I took 2 CO hosts instead of one made sure they knew all of the rules and any questions in the host QT and that they would be around for most if not all of the deadlines to help cover. I attempted to make sure they were aware of what was coming up and what would have been needed. And again thank you very much rsoul and tubesock
