Edit: actually I have a story for you Ver. I was in DC a few days ago and I saw this black dude wearing a full gold lame suit, white silk shirt and hot pink nike shoes. The people I'm with are staring at this guy like he was from another planet so he, ever so casually, tells us to "keep it gold." I never thought I'd see a meme irl but this came about as close to professor badass as you can get.

Its surprising that he would be in such a getup in DC recently because it would have been boiling hot at the time. That's a big sacrifice for style.

I've always kinda wanted to meet up with the TL people in the area, but the meetups are always in Annandale which is too hard to get to without a car. ![]()

Time permitting, I'd LOVE to play in a no-role game. It'd be a great bootcamp for everyone imo...

Only problem is that it teaches almost solely town playing, and at the moment I feel TL scum is far worse than TL town. The reason scum gains very little from playing vanilla games is that the knowledge they can't be checked or shot, and their shots can't be blocked, drastically changes the behavior of scum. The threat of being checked changes how you act, and the threat of getting your hits blocked changes who you shoot. I like normal setups like BC's AA where there were no detectives, but we did not know that at the start of the game. Same with GM's mini series, there could be dts and docs, but sometimes there aren't.

Actually, what TL Mafias are lacking is thread control, the ability to sway the lynches through decisive action, removing dts and such encourages gaining thread control, as there is no threat of "oh if I push too hard I may be checked". I agree it changes who the mafia is going to hit, but I believe its a good thing, it means *everyone* has to contribute or risk getting roflstomped when the thread goes inactive day 3.
