This women's hammer throw fiasco is disgusting. First they disallow it, and 'compensate' her with an extra throw, which she messes up. Then the Chinese athlete celebrates thinking she's got bronze only for them to announce that they had in fact measured the German athletes actual throw so they award her bronze.
It probably ended up working out in the way it should have but its very suspicious that they just seemed to have the correct measurement, despite also measuring it wrong.

How does Lavillenie clear the bar with balls that big.
Very happy for him.
And nice race from the Bahamas in the 4x400!

Lol. german moderators joking they were afraid of the pole vault medals being not counted "for passive offside". Really german athletes had some serious trouble with the officiating, even though in the end it only were some scares (fencing aside).

Beating Croatia in handball always has a special taste of "take that in your face".

Taylor's the hurdler I read about. It's pretty nice having a backup from a slightly different sport, though, even if it's not ideal.

He's been in the 4x400 team for years (he was hurdling at the 2000 olympics and has been in the 4x400 team since at least 2007). In 2008, he was the slowest guy among the US quartet in the finals, but this year he was the anchor leg.

Was that during the decathlon? During that some dudes pole just broke in 3 as he went up.
If that's the same one Im not quite sure how it's a negative scandal...

You know why Japan has 35 medals? Because at every award ceremony they have a tourist.

Really like the mountain bike course they've got. Would like to have a ride on it, especially the big rock sections.

that's what i thought too. I would enjoy every second of this ride should i be competing there

The mountain bike course is indeed very nice, and filmed extremely well i think.

I am also surprised at how expensive that course looks and how many cameras are used. They must have spend a fortune! Good thing is: The track can easily be used again since it is not part of the olympic city!
Vive la France! Congratulation. That was an impressive showing! Germany and USA taking the other medals for the ladies!

Spitz is 40y old and Gould is 32y old ... That's also impressive compared to the 23y old of Bresset.
