Money rules. Anyway bring on the 200m! Really hope we see another WC. 7% of Brits are from private schools from what I recall not 1/3rd I meant 1/3rd of the Olympians went to private schools, unless you are saying only 7% were private schooled which is definitely wrong since that's probably about the amount nationally that go to private schools! Oh I was saying of the population, makes sense that 1/3rd of our olympians are privately educated, olympics is kind of a posh thing anyway. Plus half of the sports aren't even introduced to state schools. Looking at your medal count, a lot of GB's medals come from posh sports like rowing, cycling, equestrian and the like. That fits the profile of the people who dominate those types of sports in the US, too. I dont know about cycling but the others are "posh sports". Although Rugby, Cricket, Golf, the other popular sports in the UK beside Football (although the mens tournament is a joke) arent in the Olympics Rugby and Golf are going to be in the 2016 olympics. Too bad it's gonna be rugby sevens :/
Rugby Union would suck at olympics, it would create way too many problems with clubs and it is very hard to play a tournament when players can't play more than one match/week. Also the skill gap is huge and there are like 4-5 teams max who could win the tourney. When you watch New Zealand play small countries all the USA basketball matches look super competitive lol.
So since Rugby league is retarded i guess that 7's is a great choice. Schedule will be easier too and small countries will have a better chance since it is way more amateurish. No rolfstomp scrummaging on the little guys.

I love rugby 7s, it feels so quick and lively.

The question should be: Why the... Would you break a leg while running? It sounds suspicious for the skeleton to be that weak.

Adrenalin can mask pain for a bit... but christ the stress exerted on your legs during a fucking olympic level all out sprint is intense. That shit was hurting BAD.

Haha wow I was checking out the medal table at the end of the day and the US method of ranking countries by most medals really seems silly right now 1. USA 2. China 3. Russia 56 Total (12 Golds) 4. Great Britain 52 Total (25 golds) haha just looks so strange in the table

D'aww...barely lost out. Does China have a single event left or is it pretty much done? Also, the Olympics itself is pretty much done right? Not too many events left.

So yet another wrestling bout ends by coin-flip. What a stupid sport.

Rudisha's performance today was insane. He basically dragged the other competitors to new personal bests. He could be seriously looking at sub 1:40 times in the future.
|
It should be gold 3 points, silver 2 points, bronze 1 point, and tally the points. Gold medals should obviously be more important, but I think silver and bronze should also be worth something when considering the performance of a country. A silver medal in a highly competitive event can be more impressive than a gold in an event without much competition for the top spot.

The US is going to win in the end. With solid performances elsewhere and the sweep in swimming, our athletics and league sports performances are just too hard to beat for other top contenders. China had to count on major fails by the US in athletics / swimming to take it and so far that hasn't happened.

China fail to sweep weight lifting, shooting, and gym.
China also come got a lot of silver and 4th place finish in some individual event such as boxing and TWD.
When China fail those event, the race was over. In fact, the race was pretty much over 1 week ago when China fail to sweep weight lifting and shooting.
Here in the UK, the beting wont accept US victory anymore. Thats how 1sided the race has become.
I expect the US to finish with 43-48 gold. China at 38- 39. Would have been interesting if China didnt fail those 2 events.

Holy shit. Well then, this man deserves massive props for saving us from dropping out of the 4x400m. What a badass.
