If you listen to our commentators they're usually reserved and respectful to the French/German teams but then when it comes to the Aussies in the velodrome they're like "AND IT'S YET ANOTHER DRUBBING OF THE AUSTRALIANS!" I think it's because they're so ungracious in victory/defeat.

I think it's because they're so ungracious in victory/defeat. Nononono Not everyone especially likes beating Australia. From my viewpoint, it's mainly the Kiwis and the Brits, and by Brits, I actually mean the English. With the Kiwis, it's because their the only guys in this part of the world that we can somewhat relate to, and thus, pick on, and with the English, well I don't think I need to explain that. Colonial history, yes, but mostly the Ashes. They've cried so many tears over their gentlemens sport being dominated by drunk, fat legends (Think Merv Hughes and Warney), and now recently, they're sticking it to us, both in cricket, and in the velodrome, which we've done great at before. I still think it's unfair, you have too many people. ![]()

Fantastic match. I feel bad for LCW--that was his big chance and I thought Lin Dan was a goner so many times. But all-in-all, wow just exhilarated for Lin Dan.

We're as ungracious as any other nation, but being rather small, we do have that urge to loudly brag about any achievement we can get. We don't, however, ruin someone else's victory if they earn it fair and square.

And between you and me, it's ok if we conduct ourselves terribly at rugby. Hopefully that would convince Australians to stop playing it.

Generally, Australians only care about one of the two things you mentioned, and Victorians only care about Aussie rules. I don't even know how Rugby works.

Oh, and remember, there's nothing Australians hate more than supporters of rival teams. Aka, boo the cats. Take your Premierships and go home. But enough of this, we're getting off topic here.
