Personally I'd say we're slightly behind at this point because our women's pursuit team was the fastest but they got DQ'd and we messed up the tactics on the road race, which cost Cavendish too. That's 2 medals that we were favourites for and didn't get, but as people have said we just need one more bronze medal than in China and we've met our goal. Mike Tyson. Parents if you want your child to succeed you should name them Michael, statistically the most successful name. The tactics in the road race were fine, Cavendish was favourite if it got to a sprint finish. Not every race goes to a sprint finish as we saw. Those tactics worked on 3 stages at the tour de France even when the priority wasn't cavendish

So from our pool of people with great athletic potential, a vast majority simply never even have a chance. As i understand it your system is different, you can do sport in the highschools and if you are decent at it , the system automatically recognizes it and supports you. What I mean is that for years, a lot of the US Olympic swimmers trained in one of the California schools (Berkeley, Stanford, UCLA, USC). Phelps is from the east coast of the US and he trained in Baltimore. One guy's success can end up creating a cluster of excellence.

british cyclist openly admits that he purposely crashed to get a better start and gets his gold http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/london/cycling/story/2012-08-03/philip-hindes-team-sprint-crash-britain-olympics/56765622/1 seems fair

Heck, you get fewer points for winning an Olympic gold than for winning a Masters 1000 ^^ Going to be huge though. Man that rematch :O

If your watching the internet coverage there is no cutting away and you can watch live, whatever events you want, specific events. For instance, they had livestreams of just Gymnastics Vault, during the all around and team competitions, so if you enjoy vault, you can just watch that, or only pbars, or only rings, pommel etc. But yeah the tv coverage is really really bad, and the whole deal with the opening ceremonies not being allowed to be shown live, and then we finally get it, and its cut up and has awful commentary(which was their excuse for it not being live) Honestly I really hope NBC does bad with ratings or what not, and we get what everyone else gets 8 years from now.

Also with decent commentary.
