Jordan Wieber qualified in the Inviduals but since two of her teammates are also qualified (they're #2, #3, and Wieber is #4) Wieber doesn't get to advance. The top 24 should fucking advance no questions asked. But now someone who ranked 25th is going to replace Wieber, the one ranked 4th, because IOC can't bear the notion of 3 americans on the same team moving on. :| Only 2 teammates per team allowed my ass.

They are special because the qualifiers are not before the olympics, but at the olympics. It really sucks for her since she is allready in londond, but all other sports have the same "only x per nation"

France suffered a lot because of this : at times they could almost squeeze for mens in the finals of 100M freestyle in WC. But the rules say 2 maximum. I'm talking about swimming ofc.

It should be top 24, no questions asked. It's a joke a ranked 25th replaces a ranked 4.

The rule is implemented to increase diversity in the Olympics, I agree that the rule should be 3 people though. I know it has nothing to do with Americans It has to do with it being a stupid rule. And yeah, I know the purpose. It's just, a #25 should never replace a #4 imo. Ever. Meh, only watching Weightlifting seriously anyways ![]()

Due to the timezone differences I don't know what they're showing on TV is live and half the time they're showing things like water polo which I have no interest in following. Should I just watch online? Is that what you guys are doing? I'm only watching online. For Europeans, its easy since we have a site that everyone can watch inside Europe. BBC channels, Local TV channels by country, live feeds etc. Coolsport.tv is streaming at least two BBC streams all day and also some specific matches, like football. Dunno if it works with Proxy, but if you want to try, go for it. http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/london2012/

You get shafted because you have two teammates who were just slightly better than you and yet you are better than 19 other people. Actually repeating that to myself made me realize the bullshit of it haha. Damn. I actually completely agree with you.

And the people competing all know that. So if you want to use all 4 and only 3 can go through you deal with it.
