He doesn't just pick into don't lose matchups against laners that are superior to him, he always seems to pick these risky matchups that if one gets behind they can't do anything. I wonder if it's confidence/arrogance or not. Because picking "not lose" lanes agaist teams who are your betters leads to games where you just slowly die for 30min without having any chance to win. He takes the risks because it will give them an option to win or lose big instead of lose or lose slowly

NWS looked more prepared. I dunno, that didn't look like C9 to me. NWS put such a huge investment into vision, and C9 put so much. I think they made a couple mistakes and they just tilted it out. I've never seen C9 respond to objectives so poorly. They just didn't really rotate, they ignored objective fights and then fought at times when it really wasn't necessary. In any case, I think the fashion that they lost probably helps them out a fair bit, gives them lots to work on for next game.

Yeah, I think they just accepted that they probably would lose against them, and decided to just play their best and gain some information from NWS while focusing their attention on what gets them out of groups. I'm okay with that.

Teams outside of Korea just have no idea how to set up vision properly, we saw that in every game so far. Only Cyanide/Yellow did it somewhat decent. Just look how always Gorilla and Watch are together when one lane is pushing and they go for deep wards on that side of the map.

Honestly I really hated c9's draft. if they wanted to go with a "protect the ADC" composition I'd much rather have seen Meteos on a tanky jungler like J4 or Vi and Hai grabbing himself Orianna. You give up that pick, 100-0 Talon and another champ reliant on resets with the Kha, and instead get 2 shields, a heal plus AD steroid for the Trist, with a pretty decent engage or ball delivery/wombo combo with Orianna + Lulu when J4 ults/initaites the fight.

I think that if Samsung Blue wants to go for throws throwing this game was the best possible decision.

Instead of the Lulu/Talon, I feel something like a Rumble/Orianna with focus around bot side vision control and focus on dragon well into the mid-game would have led to a much more even game with better scaling into late game than they had with this pick/ban, I think the no 3rd ban threw them for a loop as well as some extremely poor in-game decision making.

Not likely, Deft was crying after that game. To early to throw in group also.
