Frankly as much as I like the idea of "trans continental showmatches" All-star formations only work if all players within a team speak the same language. I'd much rather they fly the top 2 teams from spring split somewhere and make them play a short tournament, that could actually mean something or be a pleasure to watch.
Who didn't speak English on the EU team?
Also the NA team was willing to travel to Las Vegas to train, and it's not like the Gambit guys don't frequently travel anyway so they could do the same if they wanted to.

I believe last year the EU all-stars team had english fluency issues with some of Gambit's players

Last year? Edward and Diamond didn't speak English (at least well enough for a game) it was after Allstars that they actually took the time out to learn it, it's why Alex did all M5/Gambits English interviews for so long.
Also, due to the "can't have more than 3 from one team rule" instead of Genja we had the 2nd choice ADC and it was Yolopete... Candypanda was robbed of that spot.

The only obvious choice for NA allstars are. ZSpartan, Meaty-O's, Linkuuuuuuuuuuu, Doubliftuuuuuuu and Especial

I don't understand the Nickwu pickup at all. All of his games during the last spring (summer?) split with complexity were lackluster at best, godawful at worst.
XDG looked so sad

That feel when CLG has the fastest average game time than any other team in LCS.

surely cant take everything alex says at face value

Yeah, it's probably better to just assume the guy who has no idea what's going on inside the team is correct.

"Trust me guys... the EU team got completely screwed! They couldn't communicate!"
"Really? Someone on the team said that wasn't the case"
"Oh please you can't believe what he says"

not even a eu fan but they were not that coordinated

KR had the same problem as EU, unlike CN and NA which had time to practice beforehand.

Someone said that Cruzer is Dig's shotcaller. I thought it was Crumbzz who is their shotcaller because people talk about him being their shotcaller even the casters. Thats the first time I've heard of Cruzer being their shotcaller.

I think the problem is the with word "shotcaller". There's no real definition. I think people would give better answers if interviewers asked for who the captain/leader is. I mean it's all the same thing really, but at least this term has a concrete definition. As far as the trend goes, I believe all teams have certain people who are more vocal during different parts of the game when they feel they are most effective. So, you will have that term applied to almost everyone on any team in one way or another.

If EU allstar is Darien/Kevin+Diamond+Overpow/Alex+Candy/Creaton/Rallez+Nyph/Jree/Vander then I'd be really curious to see how they perform. We didn't really have good botlanes back in S3 Spring and I believe Diamond speaks much better English now, so the previous Allstars' issues might not be there anymore. Darien is on an island anyway, so he shouldn't be a problem (and I wouldn't really mind if someone like Kevin, Soaz, Xasus, Mimer or Fredy got picked instead).
I remind everyone about C9 games against Gambit and Fnatic (one at Worlds) who think that Balls' Rumble is on the same level as top EU/Asian teams.
Alex didn't say that there were "no communication problems", but that HE doesn't believe it's a problem since you use very few words in-game. We don't know if others agree with him. In fact after Edward joined back Gambit he said that it feels much better to communicate in Russian than in English because he doesn't have to translate it in his head etc.
