Except WE, most Chinese teams/organization were supported by richmen because of their personal interests. So, they don't need to care their popularity. However, WE is the only lucrative organization in China. They need popularity to get sponsors and operate WE's shop. As a result, WE become the most popular LOL organization in China.(65% according to Allstar vote)

A long time ago it could either have either a royal or color meaning, 皇. It sounds exactly like 黃(yellow) in chinese. Then along came a king, who, because of the dual royal and yellow(color) meaning, decreed that it was now a crime to associate 皇 with anything but royalty or gold, and forbade commoners to use it, so 黃 became the color. I guess that's where the negativity towards the name comes from.

While Royal Club is called "Huangzu" in China which means Royal family, thats where the hate comes from. But tbh, even if Royal change their name, I doubt they can out-popular WE in China cos WE inherit alot of fans from WC3. WE.Sky was the first Chinese Warcraft WCG gold medalist. So WE will remain the most popular team in China unless Royal win this S3 and continue to perform well in Chinese LPL. That's right. WE's LoL team is also seen as the gentlemen of the Chinese LoL scene and they have a ton of fans, both male and female. Comparatively speaking, they are much more approachable and marketable than the other LoL teams although OMG can probably start challenging that if they actually win everything for a prolonged period (haven't check their recent interviews so not sure). If OMG won worlds, they'd instantly be the #2 or maybe even #1 most popular team in China. Royal, not so much. While Tabe's English makes him endearing, I'd assume his HK accent in mandarin makes him quite unapproachable in the Chinese scene. China loves winners but only those that makes themselves feel like winners. Edit: On another note, I wish the LPL allowed more promotion/relegation and that the grassroots scene was better organised because there is a lot of talent in China that goes wasted because of the server segregation, geographic divide and unlikelihood of breaking out.

Although I'd rate Royal club above Cloud 9, I feel they had a serious lack of vision control in the games we saw. Of course, this could have just as easily been a style they prepared for OMG. Their overall teamwork, and team fighting seems much better than Fnatic. Even though they have such a huge reliance on Uzi, it seems difficult to stop considering Tabe's leadership at bottom and in fights. Even then, teams that they will face from now on will definitely punish their mistakes with vision control. I feel they were too reliant on having Tabe ward everything in the two games against OMG. Maybe Yango or someone who knows more about the Chinese scene can tell me if this was particular strategy they chose. Does anyone know more here? That is to say, I saw OMG warding to be better than Royal's, and was confused by the amount of responsibility of warding put on Tabe.

Here's to hoping that Heart Get Together Picks up Royal as their league team to add royal to the storied franchise. ^_^ lol.

xPeke has performed equally if not better than Faker this tournament so far but everyone's circlejerking just about Faker Yellowstar is the only support that didn't underperform in WC and is by far the best one, 4/4 leona wins, godly initiates, never lose lane Soaz played any champion from tank to AP carry to assassin in such a versatility no other toplaner has in the world I'd have wanted Fnatic vs Royal in the finals but unfortunately the brackets suck and the 2 korean teams will play each other for a free ticket to the finals Easy 3-1 for Fnatic, with the occasional pick&bans throw loss

This is why Yango gets credit, and I do not cos too lazy to explain. Yango pls. That being said Yellowstar has had a very impressive showing so far, and does not get enough credit. Why, he be probably Fnatic's true carry. It's no coincidence he made it in WC 3 times. He understands the game.

I mean, I am a 'fan' of the NA scene and wanted C9 to do well, but they did about as well as I expected, which is to say that they had a competitive series(except that game 3, ugh) against their opponent from group stage. But ya, I'm not exactly going to get torn up at someone who is belligerent about the NA scene, especially in the manner he did it. I wasn't even calling Fnatic jokes, I was calling the post a joke =[. On September 26 2013 15:00 cascades wrote: This is why Yango gets credit, and I do not cos too lazy to explain. Yango pls.
