[S3 Worlds] Quarterfinals - Page 2
Forum Index > LoL Tournaments |
Two things as public notice: 1. + Show Spoiler [Quarterfinals 1 spoiler] + Congrats to Fnatic, they played superbly and glgl to them in the Semis! No one is saying that Fnatic only won because of the level 1 in Game 3. Please keep the nationalistic statements out of our subforum. 2. Riot's Worlds format is atrocious. Let's not beat a dead horse here. I will certainly be talking to Riot's eSports dept about it in the near future. I simply ask everyone to be civil. Humble in victory, graceful in defeat. Enjoy the games~ -Neo, Sept 23rd, 3:20 PM PDT, page 120

No one can beat the bears, because bears. If they don't play hat Volibear, then I will be extremely disappointed.

For the other games, I can't see SKT losing to Gama Bears, even though I know very little about Gama Bears. I suppose there's a chance they could be this year's TPA, but I doubt it - even last year there were rumblings that TPA were being massively under-estimated, but I've heard no such thing about Gama Bears this year. Royal vs OMG could honestly go either way and I don't know enough about either team to make a prediction, but both teams seem to be fairly even in strength. I kind of hope Royal progress only because I'd like to see more of them (thanks for your sucky tournament format Riot). As for C9 vs Fnatic, I really can't go past Fnatic - they looked awesome in groups - but I kind of hope C9 win, just because I think the fan reactions/discussions will be hilarious, and I want the NA/EU rivalry to be a little more intense.

Royal would have been SKT's worst nightmare in a Bo3. Bears were probably the best.

I don't see C9 beating Fnatic either. Fnatic have been playing scarily good - probably just a tad below OMG atm. SKT 2:0 Bears Fnatic 2:0 C9 OMG 2:1 Royal Najin 2:0 Gambit Najin 3:1 SKT OMG 3:1 Fnatic Still stuck on finals. ![]()

The only time SKT have been disrupted this entire tournament was from early ganks and aggression from OMG, TSM and Lemondogs. If they get into the mid-game at least not behind more than 2k~3k, then they're just going to control the rest of the game. Royal would have been SKT's worst nightmare in a Bo3. Bears were probably the best. Just watched a few of their VoDs, NL looks like their only world class player, everyone else just seems fairly mediocre.

Fnatic > C9 Sword > Gambit SKT > Bears Royal > OMG Finals gonna end up being between Sword or SKT and Royal imo but I can see Fnatic going all the way to finals. If OMG upsets Royal they could get to finals as well. I don't think Bears, C9, or Gambit has much of a chance to make it to finals. Gambit didn't have a great group stage, Bears won't pull another TPA imoimo, and C9's style just won't work on an international stage. Come at me. Most interesting quarter finals match should be OMG vs Royal. If the group stage is any indication the OMG/Royal game might as well be the semis or even finals. Sword vs Gambit is also very interesting as it was Gambit that eliminated Sword last year. C9 vs Fnatic will be really one sided. Fnatic's fine with playing early game aggression and C9 has shown they can't handle it they were just lucky in NA LCS since Vulcun is the only NA team that plays early game aggression. SKT should stomp Bears but if not Bears will get beat in semis npnp.

To be fair, imp is still ridiculously good as an ADC. Hopefully NL picked up Corki.

I think Fnatic should take C9, but their usual poor starts/random fails will probably make them drop 1 game. Apparently C9 says they're doing really good in scrims, but w/e we all know that never means anything. I personally don't see any team, even SKT sweeping another team 2-0. I feel a lot of teams in the Quarters have proven that they're either good or they have solid enough records to not go down without a fight.

Yeah, it's S3, but you made it sound like it was something bad during their time. Can't wait for C9 vs Fnatic, though I'd rather had it as a semis, or god forbid, finals, haha. Imagine that! Still, the winner teams' region will have a good time in the future LRs, that's for sure:D (plot twist: C9 wins, proving USA is clearly superior, but then Gambit cashes in on ther promise, and takes it alll home! Maaaan... only if those Asian team weren't there; dang it!)
