That's because he plays only support type top laners which basically locks your team into an entirely predictable game. How can you expect to advance when EVERYONE knows what your strat is going into a game? No teams focus anything on HsGG's lane so you basically lock up one threat from CLG and they're down to one other one versus your three-four. I think these two bo3s show that the lesser teams have significantly improved during the short 10 weeks. Dig played sloppy as heck and CLG has been even ish against Vulcan the entire season. This event isn't as unexpected as people think.

The lower teams have improved, for sure, but I don't know how much I would put on them for playing better and how much it is just the 'top 4' teams falling apart at the end of the season (minus TSM at the moment). In a vacuum like this where it is all relative improvement is tough to measure.

Poor hotshot. "If my team was smart when I ulted in, they'd already be hitting them". The story of HotShotGG ulting. 1v5 Rock strong, but not enough. The casters were talking down Thresh about not hitting hooks as he does hook Zuna at the end of the game. When you play Rat, never assume your invis is an escape. You need 3 seconds for your attack buff to kick in. Tristana does not. Doublelift, surely you know this and took it into consideration...

Maybe you could argue him playing Malph wasn't the best choice but I wouldn't chalk their loss up to that. Yea he didn't do too badly. Had to waste a lot of ults just to get away but that's because his team couldn't pressure the map

Self proposed best player in the world Chauster and best adc in the world Doublelift really aren't as good as they say are... Not to mention the whole "2 threat" excuse is as lame as the "only have blue strat" excuse and the "it's cuz of jiji" excuse.

Oh, 0K, thanks. Vulcun played pretty good but compared to the hype I didn't feel GGU really played well. What has me most concerned is that considering how both Dig and Curse played in the last few weeks (read: pretty badly) we may end up with play-offs showcasing lower-skill games compared to some of the regular season from a few weeks ago. Of course, GGU and Curse can both step it up, I'm just not too convinced about that. (And it's not trying to find excuses for Dig: they played badly, and considering how the games went I don't believe GGU played that good either, it just happened that both teams played pretty mediocre for what we'd be expected to view as "the best of NA" since it's play-offs and all, and the less mediocre one prevailed. I'd give the semi-final to Curse easily if they play their "usual" form but I have no idea which Curse will show up.)
