Well, managed to make my way through the 130+ new pages of this thread since I was last at a computer, ouch. Some v.interesting results, and from the LR some fairly heartbreaking near misses - way too many VoDs to catch up with; here's hoping IPL5 will put out some highlight reels. Have the post-match roundtables (w/Scarra etc?) been informative?
Also, quoting this bit about farm-supression so I can find it when this thread moves on:

There's that period of time where they've taken objectives, and have an advantage, but not one that's big enough to actually high ground--but they don't do well at really keeping up the pressure and suppressing the other team's farm, which is why it feels like they're just stalling at that point.

I think WE for the first time ever in lol history can claim to have 5 players that can be argued to be top5 world.

On December 02 2012 19:35 TheYango wrote: Yeah, I'd agree with that.
Alex and Diamond are in contention for best in the world for their roles, and are guaranteed in the top 3 or 5. Darien, Genja, and Gosu aren't even remotely close. Darien is categorically outclassed by the top tier of Korean top lane play (as are most Western top laners) and Genja is categorically outclassed by Chinese bot lanes (as are most Western ADs).
This is perfectly fine, as no team has players that are absolute top class in all roles. It's just obvious fanboying if you think M5 is somehow exceptional, because it's pretty clear that Alex and Diamond outclass their counterparts much more than Genja/Darien/Gosu do (and those 3 don't lag behind any less than the players on other teams).
But, but Darien plays Xin, that has to count for something.

Caomei seems to be much more able to hold his own top lane, and I think the biggest improvement has been in the jungle play from ClearLove. He's been able to make more plays from the jungle and establish good map control without the amount of derpage we saw from him at S2 Champs.
I think they've got a great shot at taking this home, as I think they'll beat Fnatic and they'll be tough with the upper bracket advantage. Caomei, hold his own? He practically carried his teams in quite a few number of games. I want to see WE vs TPA final. I have a bet with Neo that WE will finish higher than TPA at this event.

Doesn't preclude a WE vs TPA final =p

M5 won !!!! I left after the 2nd game, crushed by this 10-0 in favor of AZB. CLG.eu out but I guess losing vs TPA is not something you should be ashamed of. It's funny how M5 evolved since their first appearance. At first I hated them because they were so cocky, like CLG.na but winning games, but now they are super manner, always smiling, and still winning some. IPL 5 is showing that EU teams can compete against Asian teams.

Is the finals bo7 or bo5 with one game advantage? Cause leaguepedia said the latter one.

TSM is terrible at this IPL5, CLG.NA fair a bit better but honestly they got the easiest group, beating a hugely overrated Fear and Iceland doesnt mean that much.
All in all, I think WE has the best shot for the champion spot since staying in winner brackets give WE a huge advantage, they play less games than anyone coming from Loser brackets thus less chance of burnout, also the 2 games advantage in the final is gonna be huge.

this just made me realize how clg.na didnt have the chance to play against one of the stronger asian teams, wonder if it would have been a stomp or if they could have held their own like clg.eu, fnatic and M5 did.
Froggen's early game build on Anivia was totally WTH and Bebe with the Farmpants, 438 cs in 40minutes as ad carry wtf.

Yeah. There was no excuse for CLG.EU losing that game after the way it started. That was depressing as a CLG fan.

^pretty sure froggens shitty anivia build was partially the reason they lost that game (or atleast didnt manage to secure advantage to win before cait got too big with nunu buff)

Bebe was the hero of the game. He kept on farming and farming and got OP as hell.

It's a Bo5, not 7 And I wouldn't say clearlove is top 5. Wx and Fzzf def. Caomei might be and there are a ton of S tier APs

O_O G3 so frustrating to watch, clg had a good lead again but threw it away with stupid mistakes by snoopeh and wickd, and Stanley+Bot just outperforming their counterparts. Also Why didn't wickd pick Irelia, who does relatively well against Rengar. Still not convinced about his rumble, he really has to learn Vlad.
lol Karthus Ult triple kill
