Grand finals are best of five, all other matches are best of three.

The bracket this time is like what MLG used for the SC2 Arena. Many people didn't like the fact that there is such a big advantage for the team coming from the winners bracket (1 set up in bo3, 1 game up in bo5, or extended series bo7). Maybe it doesn't work out very well for LoL? I remember a lot of SC2 fans liking it...but they were comparing it against extended series.

So they have 2 hours planned for a potential 5 hours of games... Yeah sounds like a great plan.

They are running a Losers bracket. There is a very very simple way it is handled. The finals are a Bo3. if the loser bracket team wins they send the other team to losers for a second Bo3. Anything else is a disadvantage to either side.
Why does MLG have so much issues with this most basic of systems.

Afaik, MLG Lee said they abandoned the Extended Series rule because people hated it. LoL at MLG has also never used Extended Series ever, even in the LoL events last year. Always been double elimination. It's only been a rule for SC2. This MLG is the first one for LoL with a new format since they have two Winner Brackets.
