I expect to see much more BTs than IEs after the supports get their heals nerfed or the ranged ADs will just get replaced by another bruiser..unless Dominion hits in before all that and becomes the norm for competitions.

I'm almost always going IE on AD ranged, suits me better. I like going IE > zeal > zeal > PD > PD > LW, that's like my super standard Ashe/MF build and it's super effective.

This is just a general guideline. I still get IE on Trist/Ashe without fail. They just autoattack so much.
But for Cait/MF/Vayne, I use the reasoning from above.

I'd say that would depends on your team, does the team stick well together, giving you the protection you need, how well you are able to kite, how many leaping/teleporting/dashing bruisers their team has. If your team has a very strong initiation like amumu and you feel you are safe to do your thing from range, go IE. If you feel like you're gonna be taking some stray damage then BT.
If you get simply run over by bruisers/jungler when no one in your team protects you, pick something else than ashe :\

For solo Q id still go IE tyCe. You wont have a team protecting you as much and if your dying regularly and losing stacks BT becomes a lot less attractive.

You have to realize that having nearly 50% lifesteal on tristana allows you to rocket jump much more agressively and play a lot different from a typical ashe with infinity edge.
