i might have to pick up jayce again this patch. pop W, auto attack a guy to proc nightfall, land a Q and then switch to hammer form and roll your face on the keyboard
i think this could be rework guinsoos level of clowny to be honest, their reasoning in the patch notes was goofy as fuck too, i'm struggling to think of a AD based champ that couldn't use this item in their build - riven, renekton, varus, quinn, j4, talon

That alistar blurb is everything that is wrong with riots balancing reasoning.
it boils down to: "it's hard for us to balance when player skill factors in with a champions abilities, so we took the skill part out to make it easier for us"
Alistar's Heabutt (Sic) + Pulverize combo is one of the strongest interactions in the game, but also makes the champion incredibly tricky to balance. It's not the easiest thing to pull off 100% of the time (even in pro play), which means that whenever we have to buff or nerf Alistar, it disproportionately affects players that can hit the combo or not. Not anymore. After 6.3, It's now just a thing Alistar can do with regularity. Now your decisions should be around 'Do I want to use the combo in this situation?' instead of 'Can I do the combo?'

So when i came back I was super rusty and could not get anywhere near where i was before. i wish i didnt have anger problems because i could've possibly been playing in masters/challenger right now. but i just couldnt keep playing, i was literally hurting myself physically whenever i played badly or lost games. Hah, same! Except the master/challenger part, at best I could maybe get to the doorstep, but spending the last quarter of S4 tryharding the living shit out of every game and only getting to D3 promos, and losing a million LP after every loss made me so fucking burnt out that I just skipped S5 altogether. It was all fun when I saw myself slowly but surely climbing, and actually improving, correcting mistakes, but after hitting my head into a brick wall repeatedly and having absolutely no idea what I could've done better, it just sucked the soul out of me. And the worst thing is, what I accomplished wth my mentality is now completely gone. I've gone from a toxic shit to an occasionally annoying guy to have on your team, but now that I started playing again, I am tilted by everything and everyone. And when I tilt, I tilt hard. If I am 0-1, then it's game over. I never practice actual physical outbursts, I just keep it in and let it explode into someone's face. It sucks, because I used to just laugh at people being salty at chat, but 1/3th in my game ends up with me playing Hearthstone while standing in the fountain because someone barked at me, or me leaving bot lane at lvl 4 because people doesn't have the slightest clue about their own champions' strengths, let alone lane mechanics. I tried to do a tryhard run on my main acc, which decayed to shit MMR wise, but it's quite hard when I would already spam surr after 3 minutes, or somehow tilt so hard that I end up playing Graves supports. (Which actually worked rather well, so others not being able to not feed someone to 10-0 just tilted me even more). And once again, I used to be the guy voting an instant no to every surrender vote and actually "slap" people back into the game. To be honest, I should probably just play every game with /mute all until mid-plat, when people might actually say something of value. Dude you sound fucking pathetic. I don't know who came up with the word "tilt" or decided that it was somehow an excuse for awful behavior, but this shit has got to stop. Like, you get to pretend you're not actually a terrible person, rather, you just "tilt" and then do terrible things. Except in your case you decide you're going to "tilt" after a single death, so that you can make excuses for AFKing in fountain? 1. You described tilt 2. I am not hiding behind it. No matter the reason you do things, YOU do them, so I am not claiming that evil spirits have claimed my mind and I have absolutely no control over my actions.
In other news, I finally got to experience the Illaoi 1v3 smackdown. I can see now how this champion can seem to be broken. But to be fair, If I was at least ganked early, or God forbid, camped, I could've been 0-10 as well. I was constantly bullying Garen under his tower, and Illaoi is so goddamn slow that it just feels like russian roulette.
I like maxing W, though only tried Q max once, and vs. champions like Gnar I would probably want to go Q max. Anyway, should I always max Q/W second, depending which one I went for first, or should I go for E?

tilting is when you have bad in game decisionmaking and everything you do ends badly, like my ganks end up in no kills or getting counterganked, i cant cs properly, take bad trades, etc. beyond normal play
what was described is actively being a shitter while avoiding responsibility for your actions and subtly insinuating that somehow, it's not *really* your fault

I see little reason to not max E before Q, but take a 3rd point in Q at 12, and then finish off E, with the new mana buff to E. The 3rd point in Q, gives you 8s CD on the Q, which means with CDR you are looking at 4-6 seconds depending on your build and rune choices, thats a big break even point for defending from split push since it lets you clear waves before hitting towers with just Q, with only a slight drop off in single target damage.
But with everything illaoi, it's still not good enough to make her good in this meta. lol

It's used from poker, but named for pinball. In poker a valid strategy is to attempt to tilt someone through verbal communication. something that is bannable in league. what SHOULDNT be bannable is venting frustration, but that is also a bannable thing in league unfortunately.

Lastly, I fully admit Poppy is OP,but nerfing Poppy w/o nerfing Fiora seems problematic in my opinion, Fiora is definitely dictating the pro toplane meta more than Poppy, now you basically have to pick quinn or cede turrets mid lategame. They also said fiora nerfs will be in 6.4

what was described is actively being a shitter while avoiding responsibility for your actions and subtly insinuating that somehow, it's not *really* your fault Yes, the afk (which is taken far out of context, I never actually leave the game, except when being 0-40 down but two people wanting to have more fun) is not tilting, but everything else is. Also, tilting, or rather, what tilts you is unique for everyone. In the end, it results in you playing shit, whether it's because you try to come back with an all-in from 0-2 and you just anti-snowball yourself out of the game, or because you lose all your faith in you, so you are afraid to make any plays, and basically your team ends up with having an 0.5 member.
But once again, I never hid behind tilting for playin bad, or others annoying me for standing in the fountain for 90 seconds. I simply explained how my mentality hit almost rock-bottom WHICH manifests in these things. And yes, I am aware that the root of it is me being angry at myself which creates this "never-ending" circle.

Thanks. But can she ever be good in the pro scene? I feel like high-end players should have no trouble with her tentacles, unless she creates a vessel just before the teamfight. I guess the plus side of her is that she could potentially stand her ground in 2v1 with spamming Qs, and with another tank or initiater, you can build a teamfight heavy comp.

also the riot system specifically is designed to continually punish someone after they've been punished once. so if i got chat restricted in season 3-4 i'm significantly more likely to be banned in season 6, even acting the same as another player who wouldnt get banned for the same thing.

She's maybe the best followup in the game in terms of teamfight power (depending on whether you value safety as a strength of follow up). So if the meta shifts to that i'd expect to see her peek in now and then. Weirdly i think she might be stronger as an AD mage/assassin than her current weird juggernaut thing. but I haven't figured out how to lane that yet. her AD scaling is just so good though...

I dont even think its really about that with Alistar. I used to be able to do the HB>Pulv 9/10 times back when they have LA servers and I was east coast, and now with Midwest servers and my ping halved something they changed screwed with the code making it much less reliable (even as I got marginally better). Yes, its always been a skill thing, but they somehow accidentally made it more of a raw mechanics thing rather than something I could do with a predictable W<pause>Q.

i think what is ok vs. not okay in league would make an interesting cultural discussion, arguably riot has done a fairly bad job of promoting a good environment (i'm salty i haven't gotten a teamwork or friendly badge yet tbh with 1K+ pts in both) and they haven't exactly been balance wizards though we're basically all addicts so what they do is good enough.
anyways, that said, if you tilt that easily playing game after game is probably not a good idea. you improve by playing smart, which extends past knowledge of matchups, champ mechanics, strategy and all that. you gotta be introspective about your fortitude or whatever, especially if its holding you back that much
on illiaoi, i was gonna point out yesterday her role as counterinitate/ followup engage is super strong like PX just said. i think her problem is she needs a breath for setup to really be effective. other champs dont really need that.
rolewise, i almost feel like she fits in a yorick-like spot, strong but just never really fits a team.

ali combo isnt hard to hit... all you have to do is dumbcast, ezpz honor badges are almost all in the hands of system abusers or non ranked players. Co op vs AI community spams honor so if you aren't in that community you will never catch up in ranked mode. that system is really broken unfortunately.
but most behavior that leads to reports isn't game to game, it's pretty easy to cool off post game, it's "i just fucked up my all in and died, i got back to lane and my jungler told me that i had to be on my own and the lane is frozen i'm two levels behind, but ihave tp up so "hey if you guys bot lane can put a ward down i can get back into the game with a TP fight" and then they don't ward, and the frustration boils over from a mistake that put you in tilt, and then the team just treating you (perceived) like trash. then you say "well fuck you guys then" and someone takes that shit to heart and says something about you being toxic and needing to be reported, you respond with dude just play the game i'm trying to, and they take that as a challenge to their skill and start spamming all chat about how toxic you are, and then it's over. That self righteousness is the opposite of how to treat a tilted teammate. literally just ignoring the "fuck you guys then" ends the issue, frustration was vented and everyone gets to move on. it takes 2 to create an argument or a toxic situation among teammates. The problem is making someone go off and become "toxic" isn't bannable but being set off is. It's troll paradise in ranked.
if it's just one guy going off to be a dick, you mute and then its over. its over. you have to engage it to make it blow up.
Honestly the frustration getting engaged by a teammate antagonistically happens so much that i'd much rather reports not lead to bans but just add 1 minute time per report before the next game for both the reporter an the reported. If a player is a problem they are getting 2-9 minutes of cool down time, and if you got pissed off enough to report someone you get a minute to cool off. 1 minute isn't a big deal to normal players, but trolls will be less willing to troll people to going off if they have to spend an extra minute a game to do so and they don't get to feel self righteous about drawing someone to a ban.
But yes, Illaoi is a follow up queen. but she pays for that with sub par split push and laning and no engage, though she does have an ability to help fight poke teams, especially now that the delay is removed for whiffing. She's pretty good on an orianna/lulu team comp as a Ball delivery system but thats pretty far out of meta, As lulu is used for the disengage now rather than the speed up -> shockwave of old.

That's how most systems work. If the punishment did not clean up the behavior we will make a stronger punishment. Until a point when they decide " we would rather not have you a customer". It's the attitude that you are doing nothing wrong if you are getting banned/restricted that is so frustrating. The simple solution is to change the behavior instead of some long winded reasoning on why the system is not good. It's there and work within it. Whether or not you agree with it really doesn't matter. The narcissism on league is sometimes overwhelming "I didn't get me roll" Basically stating your more important than the 4 others. And all the blame of teammates almost always comes down to deflection. The answer to all your problems is maturity. The ability to turn the other cheek and not get into stupid inet fights with some other random immature kid or adult.
Not rocket surgery as Don Cherry would say. This is exactly a large portion of the problem. You are part of the problem saying this. you view yourself as superior to others like riot encourages. you think it's about you vs "toxic" players, and that leads to confrontation resulting in toxic behavior. there are very very few toxic players, people who completely lack empathy and are entirely narcissistic and psychopathic (probably an equal proportion to society). The vast majority of people banned/chat restricted/ warned are not this. and your intent to equate people who get reported as equivalent psychologically with serial killers and career criminals is a HUGE part of the problem, one that has been encouraged by riots language with regards to the report system and those affected by it.
The system doesn't DO anything to actually prevent future behavior except through threats. You aren't told what you did wrong, how many people reported you or how frequently those people report, you aren't told what you said or did for eveyr report, you just get a single game chat log that is sometimes broken and can't scroll past 20 messages. whats even worse, sometimes this doesnt even show up, and you aren't told you are banned, you just can't queue because it's grayed out and you don't know anything is wrong until you re-log, but you can still access the store and pay cash to riot.
There is very much a culture of treating people who got reported as beneath those who did the reporting, instead of condemning behavior the system in place it to just call those people bad people. but there is no reason at all to do so, except riot does it through lyte encouraging the behavior on the forums unprofessionally shit talking and publicly shaming players who complain, people look to that and think, this guy decides what is acceptable for players to do, and he publicly shames and verbally abuses people who got reported, so i can too. The system is horribly horribly flawed. and empathy and understanding should be more important than righteousness and being on the right side of the report.
it's very much similar to the Stanford prison experiment. when you give the power with no indication of rebuking abuse (report weight is hidden for example), the systemic abuse occurs.

You're going out of your way to antagonize anyone that doesn't agree with you that reporting people is bad. no he's exactly blaming people instead of actions. and what YOU are saying i'm doing is not even in the same galaxy as what i'm actually saying, but okay dude. Reporting is fine, report abuse is not, a system intentionally restricting what a player can do more and more and (in the case of the chat restriction system) encouraging the behavior it's stated goal is to remove, is not okay. For a small example, i have 3 accounts, only 1 of them has ever been restricted in any way, i do not act differently from account to account. the restricted one is the oldest one, and regardless of time between games gets a restriction in some way every dozen games or so, the other accounts have never even been warned.
If what i'm doing is a problem, the system would uniformly punish my accounts maybe proportionally to the games played on each account. if it was at all related to how i act in game consistently then you'd expect at least a warning on one account if the other receives regular restrictions. but instead that account is marked and receives punishments constantly while all the others don't ever do so. The system is absolutely causing these issues. and questioning it gets swatted down by self righteous people as "you are just a toxic player". Which they learned from Riot Lyte's public unprofessional-ism. But whatever man.
