I think its interesting saying that he wants to be in LCS next year so he doesn't know what to do. If half of the challenger teams are B teams of LCS teams (C9C, TLA, ApexA in theory) wouldn't it make sense to just wait and buy a challenger team should they be coming into the LCS because of the no sister team rule? Isn't that the lowest cost, highest likelyhood event? It would cost more but be less of a hassle.

Maybe I'm just really uninformed but I assumed that the cost of a team/cost of living for a split would be more expensive than ($ amount from selling CS spot-$ amount of buying challenger league team who made it into LCS).

Well there were spots going for a million $, even though prices dropped somewhat later on. But if franchise system is indeed coming as some rumours say LCS spots will be very valuable. Supporting a challenger team for a split is surely less expensive, even though salaries here also exploded. And if it fails which is not unlikely you end up with nothing but expenses like Ember. In any case the whole LCS business has become extremely expensive since the influx of outside investor money. So I would totally understand if someone like Odee backs out and rather keeps his money.

Well then, excellent news! Especially since it's what should be a strong, experienced ownership taking over from a disinterested one.

In hindsight the Forgiven kick makes more sense now. H2k must have had a strong alternative ready to go for this move.

For reference their revenue is about the same as LA Lakers. I can not imagine they will lend their name to a tiny esports team though. And no idea who will manage this. But money should not be an issue for them.
