Dexter vs Jacob Wolf!
Seriously though, assuming that Dexter can't hang around for a couple of more years, a hypothetical 3 year deal that isn't a lowball is a pretty safe thing to sign. Blah blah, the org might disappear, blah blah. Rick Fox's name is attached to it; as a public figure it's just way cheaper for him to make good on his contracts than whatever publicity fallout is for not paying his end.
Edit: Also, yes, you can probably just sue Rick Fox if you don't get paid what you're owed. As I just remembered the case of Curt Schilling (ex-MLB pitcher) and 38 Studios, his videogame development studio which failed in 2012 and made headlines for being unable to pay the employees. The lawsuit they filed was partially settled this year, although apparently Schilling himself is still fighting.

Based on the numerous times this topic comes up I'm going to assume the former which appears to be the stance of many LL posters.
All "anti-poaching" rules do in traditional sports(European at least, don't know or care about American) is facilitate an industry of middlemen. Riot doesn't have this parasitic middlemen industry so really there is no need for these rules unless they want to make their own middlemen and cash in on that too. Much like the ELO boosting rules the anti-poaching has only served to deny us the pleasure of watching players or in previous instances have been a small slap on the wrist. It's dumb. I hate it.
Then you look at the implementation. The company controlling it dishes out sentencing without showing any evidence, radically inconsistent judgement and no appeals avenue. It's a mess. Give Chawy back his Worlds

You're against the agents/middlemen? We're seeing more and more evidence that players are terrible at protecting themselves legally and are in desperate need of legal representation.

Pretty sure that Numy has implied other thing.
Without the middlemen/agents there is no reason to keep players from having talks with other teams, especially in the off-season. Hell, you can go into talks in football, when you have less than half a year of contract.
And the worst part of it is that as Numy says, all those punishments are like slaps on the wrists, which hurt teams in the short-term but nothing changes drastically at all.
Like, I don't see a problem there, unless you pull a Styz and reject to train with your current team at all, being in the middle of the season.

It's a tough situation. I think agents are needed the same way people need financial advisors, lawyers etc. I don't really like how their job changes from just protecting the players interest to being a gateway to bypass a rule that everyone bypasses. Then the rule becomes meaningless. The issue is what is the spirit of the rule/law. What is it trying to accomplish and is it accomplishing that thing. Clearly in traditional sports it's accomplishing nothing other than creating a need for agents outside of just players requiring advice/management help. That's at least my view of it in sports.
League doesn't have this system in place at all. Feels like Riot merely copied half of a system instead of all it it and all that's accomplished has been to hurt players. We even see owners like Reginald have to put in clauses in his contracts to "bypass" this rule. Shouldn't need to rely on team owners being good people for a rule to work. League hasn't been big enough to have agents for every player, we aren't some massive sport that's been around for over 100 years. Riot needs to stop acting like it is.
So yea I see no reason for the rule to be in place with or without middlemen/agents but I do think Agents can fill vital roles for players which would stay around even without the rule.

Oh, then Numy's not seeing the aspect of these sort of rules establishing legal boundaries for the owners to play nice with each other. At some point, a light goes on and owners realize that they're more business partners than not.

Mind elaborating what you mean? I don't really see how having to use middlemen creatures boundaries to play nice. I think even if the rule got removed most players will prob still use agents for the talks anyway.

That was pretty dumb but Riot always had the clause that they could deny whoever they want from owning LCS teams so not like they had to go do all the retroactive thing. Could just have said "Badawi we no like bye" and it would have been less dumb

I'm referring more to the part where, legally at least, owners have to respect the contracts made between their fellow owner and the respective player. Poaching/tampering is really more an owner versus owner issue than anything else.

Poaching/tampering is really more an owner versus owner issue than anything else. the problem right now is players can be kept in the dark regarding their value until their contract is up.
So for example, if Org B wanted to pick up player A, from Org A. They can't talk to Player A, the only point of contact is Org A. Org A has ZERO requirement to disclose any offers from Org B to player A.
The only organization right now we know of that has it written in their contract that the players must be notified of another Organization's interest is RNG, because they've revealed their player contract regarding offer disclosure.
The biggest problem is lack of long enough free agency, players are scrambling to find teams the second their contract is out, and only given a short amount of time to do it. Meanwhile, it wouldn't be hard for Riot to pretty much implement free contract negotiation the week after World's, without "poaching" shenanigans.
