But I do expect Riot to increase crit chance and lower crit damage for Season 6 just to soothe the angry mobs. Pls crit is the biggest problem in this game and always has been. It doesn't help create anything except problems. That "what should i main" is stupid. Obviously bot lane is gonna have the best % because 2 people get gold instead of 1 when they are winning. Realistically jungle and mid are the 2 best. Bot is good only if you duo.
Yes, I agree that article is problematic. Gold lead means nothing.

Crit is exciting, it feels good to crit. That's why it's in the game, their words.

The crits on ad are stupid too but not as bad.
Also laning vs yasuo/trynd. Or old gp with 2% crit in offensive masteries.
I really don't think Yasuo can decide a lane with a crit. Tryndamere, MAYBE, but Yasuo with 5% crit isn't going to decide the lane.
Also I don't think crit on AD Assassins is problematic. If you get killed because of a crit (out of only one auto he threw at you), most likely he can kill you just as easily with another auto should the first auto not crit.
Crit on ADC is only problematic when it comes to an ADC vs squishy duel - for example ADC vs ADC - since only a few autos are needed for one party to kill the other. But even that is probably not as awful as some people think since crit is coded in a way such that you are less likely to score multiple crits in a row.
By the way, I think any serious discussion on crit chance (and why it is bad) should include evidence on how Riot's crits are generated. Otherwise it's just all anecdotes.

If you think it isn't a problem you clearly don't play squishy champions. The difference between a crit or not from zed/rengar/talon/etc is the difference between life and death.
The problem with yasuo/trynd it makes laning incredibly random. Every time you go in there is a bonus risk involved for no reason. Say yesterday I tried to fight a yasuo with only a brawlers(which is 16%) when we both were at 500(me) vs 300 hp and he crit me 2 times. Or how even trynd mains complain how incredibly random his laning is.
I heard it isn't completely random but been fucked wayyy too many times at this point to believe it lowers chances for crits in a row that much.

When Hydra came out, Talon started building it instead of BT as his first item. Then Last Whisper, as usual. Then for another source of AD... IE, because it has the same amount of AD as BT, he already has his sustain, and a random 25% (at the time) crit for 2.5x the damage (which is more than 1.5 aa because of how short his E's damage amplification is, but it's a bit specific here) makes any squishy an easy kill.
He'd easily take 2s to put in two more autos to make up for it if his opponent doesn't just sit on his ass, and 2 seconds is a long time when you factor in reaction/cast time (Rengar is that retarded because he kills you so fast you can barely react, same with post-release Kha'Zix until they nerfed evolved W and being able to Q/W during his jump).

Crit would prob be fine if it wasn't on cheap items and only on late game combine cost. Also if guys like Yasuo/Trynd didn't exist. Such dumb design.

I'm confused. Did you just ignore the first sentence or are you saying that ghostblade is a late game item? Yasuo basically creates a problem with needing cheap Crit items since he's partly balanced around that. Similar with trynd. Both really shouldn't have crit in their kit, it's just dumb design. The crit adds nothing to their gameplay. It's just thrown on to give some random chance of winning. I would rather they just remove it then rebalance the kit.

Crit's great for ADC's (it was when IE was 1 in 4 chance, and also not first-buy, but whatever, that's on the chopping block far as I know), but a garbage stat when you can only get 15% as an AD assassin, except for the 1 in 7 times where it's randomly the most efficient stat in the game.
Which is fine and all, but it means AD assassin/caster itemization is constantly in a weird flux of 'how much crit can this guy get' 'how many AAs is he gonna get in x situation.' And the limitations bleed into ADC itemization because crit is inflexible in a game mostly dependent on reliable stat advantages.
Yasuo is whatever, he itemizes like a bruiser ADC would. Trynd is a boring bad champion.

It looks impressive, but it wasn't really that hype for me.
It's really disconnected from the players and teams so it just ends up being a kind of bland animation. The animation for Warriors had a lot more personality to it. I'm sure people will like it though. The song is much better this year though.

This. If you get into a 1vs1 with Zed that you can legitimately win, then a random crit will completely throw you off because you can't outplay it. It throws skill out the window.

It's the problem of AD being used for abilities and AA, balancing the itemization for both is hard since it's the same stat. That's kind of why crit is there, it's supposed to be a desirable stat for champs who also build AS and can crit often, but stuff like Ghostblade makes me scratch my head because it's a 'bursty' item with crit, so it's often bought by AD casters (some ADC buy it too, but for the same reason, burst dmg).

Champs like Zed don't buy Ghostblade only bc of the crit, it's a powerful item without it for them. The crit is just icing on the cake, for the lulz.

I know they don't. That's why GB has to suck on non-AD assassin/caster champs. They paint themselves into a corner.
|
yea botrk/ghostblade/LW is just a disgusting core for champs it is good on. It throws any sort of build adaptation out the window because there is never a situation where this build wont be good so you rarely ever make a decision on champs like zed/quinn/twitch/etc you pretty much just always want this core ASAP

I'd argue that it's actually weaker for Twitch if you're behind since you can't hope for big IE crits and you won't be able to assassinate people from stealth (they'll just kill as you soon as you activate BotRK and pop out), also being behind means you'll get these items later (which reduces the relative value of youmu's ArPen).

Well yeah, if you're behind on an ADC and can't burst anyone down, then there's no point buying GB. I don't consider it a core item on Twitch though, it's an incredibly strong flex pick. But it's so good on him that even if behind, if you land kills with it you can snowball from there.
|
It is definitely core on twitch. It is a perfect item for him.

I think VayneAuthority has the right of it. There's situations where BotrK/GB/LW isn't the ideal first three item set on Twitch, but it's the ideal set in the large majority of cases, and when it's not the ideal three item set it's still pretty close to it, so you can defs just go for it and never need to adapt if you don't feel like it.
