After a bit of reading, it seems like crit dmg only works on enhanced basic attack abilities like second part of Viktor Q and Nidalee's takedown. So sadly no billion damage crit Anivia/Karthus.
If what I understood from lolwiki and random boards is true I suppose crit dmg marks could be interesting to try on Nidalee and Viktor tho.
