A bad bruiser >>> a bad adc. Yes, people like wildturtle do work, but if you can't play adc, a bruiser is going to be better since it's easier and more forgiving

On the note of easy ADC, I think Trist is a good pick because her auto windup is like a single frame, making it alot easier to stutter step, compared to for example Graves or (ugh), Sivir.

So apparently getting disconnected from ranked team games (3s in this case) puts you in low prio queue as well. I mean it's my own fault, my pc overheats a lot and I took the risk, but shouldn't it be on my ranked teammates to decide whether or not this is acceptable for me? If they accept the fact that I might overheat and dc, why does the game have to tell me I can't do it? Who exactly am I griefing here?

Yeah but it's a dangerous route to take learning to play a bruiser bot lane as opposed to an adc. Sure if you're playing with other low levels you might be able to have an easier time beating up on them with a bruiser as opposed to an adc, but what happens when they rank up and get to facing better opponents and haven't bothered learning adcs? Then they need to learn an archetype of champions that they've ignored when playing vs inferior opponents, which means they'd get dumpstered even harder versus better opponents.

Well not griefing per se but the enemy team isn't getting the full authenticity of a 3v3 experience if someone is DCing. If people have limited time to play League and want to spend it playing ranked 3s by forcing them to 3v2 you might be taking away their enjoyment?

While technically true I think most teams just go "yay points".
Ah well, I can finally play on my desktop again after having some hardware issues after putting in a new motherboard and cpu myself. So still a net positive in terms of game enjoyment, it just means I have to sit out another 4x20 minutes ofo low prio queue.

your PC overheats from league????

Again though, having Mikaels, Locket, Randuins, etc is more useful than having Lich Bane or other damage items. Your job is not to one shot carries and few support heroes even possess a kit where it is possible to do so. Sorry, but please, you're wrong. Yes, in keeping an adc alive that can't peel for himself a Mikaels, Randunis -and if they have alot of aoe damage-, Locket is good. But if you have divers going for your adc who are kinda squishy or if your adc has a bunch of self peel or if you've picked a champ to set up engages, initial burst or flatout blowing someone up with your 'hypothetical 6 items' can be just as good if not better. So the original conversation was talking about selling Sightstone for Lichbane as a sixth item. This isn't about some hypothetical magic land where supports get infinite amounts of gold. Items like Mikaels and Locket give you a lot more effectiveness in fights for how much you spend. Selling your sightstone for Lich Bane is stupid. Lich Bane has no place on support itemisation, including in the lategame. You will never be at a gold/experience threshold, again even in the lategame, to do enough damage and there are almost no supports that have an appropriate kit to do what you're suggesting. This kind of ability to blow people up is vision reliant too, and you're selling sightstone to make this happen. Even if you have itemised something like Deathcap/Lich/Void, you're still not going to be at a strong enough item threshold to kill an ADC with everything up at 60 minutes. You're never going to get to a point where you are at a comparable item level to your midlaner in a game that isn't troll and you sacrifice so much team utility and power to even try. What are you planning to do, Flash within 500 range to land a Sona powerchord? You will flash forward into their team and instantly die, support aren't assassins. The important targets will have some form of defense in Banshees/QSS and you won't do enough damage to kill anything with a Lich Bane. If the support could easily do what you're suggesting they would be played in lane that gets farm.
first off you're completely ignoring the fact that yellow trinket is nearly as good as sighstone and you can't run around the map warding lategame anyway because literally any time you aren't grouped its a risk to get caught or your team to get caught. You don't need that much vision when its mostly sieging anyways.
i mean if you're playing leona you're going to get a thornmail instead of a lichbane, or a trinity force, alistar wants a trinity force, janna wants more ap maybe a zhonyas or something not that many champs need a lichbane its mostly sona and maybe annie
yeah you flash to within 500 range to land a q+powerchord. I don't know why thats weird at all you do that shit all the time to flash ult to win games
sona does fuck all damage to tanks and as such is a shitty peeler and works best as an aggressive support with utility when her burst is down with speed/shield
sona actually prefers to fight squishies because bruisers destroy her
if you' aren't selling sightstone for a 6th item you're pretty dumb, but lichbane isn't necessarily the right item, i just took an offhand example but on sona you probably want lichbane earlier if you're going mejais at least

I stopped getting sightstone as supp, I just buy mby 4 wards til 9 then upgrade yellow. Always carry a pink though, regardless of role, because you almost never don't need a pink in soloq :p
Btw my pc was in great shape for lol before the SR upgrade, now I get random fpsdrops halfway through the game and have to tab out and back in every game -_-

its probably cheaper for you to buy sightstone than to spend 300 gold on wards and then 250 on a trinket when sightstone costs 400 lol
as a bot lane you expect to back 2-3 times before lvl 9 if not more

Sightstone does not cost 400 though.

Yes it does, the Ruby Crystal doesn't count.

Then I guess the giants belt doesnt count towards warmogs? What kind of logic is that?

You're paying 400g for the wards which is the only relevant part of the comparison.
|
Sightstone takes up one of your ruby crystals which could have meant an earlier real item (ie you delayed an aegis by 800 gold)
Plus 400 (+ruby crystal) gold upfront early game is much more costly than say 75g each b and then your 250 trinket at level 9 (where 250g matters less). Even more cost if you delayed upgrading your gp5 (idk what these are called now) item for the sightstone due to lost extra gold income. Also, it takes up an inventory slot and you end up selling your sightstone eventually anyway as previously mentioned (I'm surprised people even consider ruby sightstone part of a full build).
It's a similar concept to a riven showing up to lane with 2 long swords compared to your 1 long sword at level 1 vs her having a long sword on you at level 9. Only a 360g advantage for both cases, but very substantial differences in laning. Granted, the setback sightstone gives you isn't as big as this, but it's still pretty damn noticable.
All-ins at level 6 (or in general) can be decided by 400g in items. I've seen many pre-9 botlane where fights get decided by a margin of <100hp (ie support lived long enough to kill the other champions first). They almost always end up in my favor cuz, you know, I don't buy wards :^)
tl;dr: sightstone is the new madred's bloodrazor in terms of noob traps

The fact that the gem itself didn't produce wards doesn't change the fact that you needed 800 gold to get to ward.

this is fucking ridiculous reasoning "you could get aegis 800 gold faster" no, because if you spend 250 gold on a trinket and 400 gold on wards you are 150 gold faster to an aegis but 150 hp behind 150 hp is quite a lot and in lane phase can easily mean the difference between killing and being killed
you provide a lot more as a champion than aegis. Aegis is a small benefit to your team, you are a large one, having more stats on a support isn't a bad thing. people focus way too much on support items on supports and far too little on what you are actually achieving.
a ruby gives you MORE stats than upgraded gp5, and an early sightstone gives you up to 4 wards, which is 300 gold per base. I'm assuming you're buying only 1 or 2 wards per back if you're skipping it, meaning that you are losing safety and not even saving gold. the upgraded gp5 gives WAY less value than sightstone does
if you're not buying wards at all then yes, you will be stronger in fights, and no, its not a good idea because any time the jungler wants to come and kill you he can, meaning you can't ever abuse being stronger in fights. It's much more mature to have some decent ward coverage and try to outplay the opponents rather than hoping nobody notices you didn't buy any wards and that the jungler doesnt feel like ganking you.

At that point he was just asking for it, especially since it's not the first time he said this.
