I mean people were niche picking him in support for the stun but the new Q gives him a lot more options in lane and the nerf to R means that he isn't as silly where he just blows everyone up. I would feel that he was meant to be a master of mages kind of thing where the R really hit AP champs hard (kinda like DotA's mana void hit casters), it still will be able to gib them pretty well with the bonus damage from their own AP, just that you won't see him random trololo burst leona and the poor jungler.
Also, I find all these Riot please get better dev team requests really ridiculous. While listening to "public opinion" is important, it shouldn't be the sole factor that determines what does and does not work. For those more familiar with M:tG and Mark Rosewater's design column (Do check it out if you don't btw), they identify three types of players that generate different experiences and have their own perception of fun when playing the game.
Most of us here who regularly watch the LCS/LCK/LPL and trawl these forums often fall into a more competitive demographic (or are heavily influenced by it) and thus would feel that the design of the game should cater towards us, which it does with all the new high mechanics high reward champions and the way they often tune things towards rewarding good play. But for the average person who plays a game or two, perhaps buys a skin for their fav champion, doesn't watch LCK and has never touched a game of ranked, their perspective is going to be really different on what 'good' and 'fun' is.
I mean this might sound like that ridiculous silent majority argument, but my point is- There are different demographics of players; These players perceive fun differently; It doesn't take Faker to know what is fun (It is possible that his perception of it might be really really warped)
I think he is.
His E and W are entirely useless in 1v1 situations. No mage can win a trade with only 1 nuke.
His new Q also is much harder to trade with. In lane you are a sitting duck basically, you cannot trade. You also lost your ability to defend yourself from ganks with E, and you have no gank assist anymore.
Veigar basically gets hard shit on in ever lane where your opponent buys boots.

Not being able to trade from behind minions is a pretty big nerf, the only way this version of veigar can ever work is if it doesn't have limited targets.
the fact that his W always was useless unless you stunned (with rank2 or higher mind your, rank 4 if they have mercs) means the stun delay is really problematic to his kit
also the size of the skillshot and not being true AoE I find the range to be pretty lackluster.
|
I don't really play LoL, but wouldn't just increasing cast point on Kassadin's skills have been a simple way to allow for counterplay without gutting his ultimate?
|
I've always wondered what would be the result of him not getting unlimited mana through W
I'm not sure if it would have worked but it could have been worth a try maybe? idk

Even Nyjacky thinks new Veigar is complete trash. Said on his stream he will never pick it again.

Somehow my targetted spells stopped working and I also couldn't recall or use ignite. Weirdest thing ever and I was just playing her how I usually play her. This was at 25 ping too, and it's never happened to me before. you have to self cast something to unstick them Kat has no self castable spells though. So there's like mikael's... you can still press the keys to self-cast and I think it counts. I would selfcast W and see if that fixes it, yeah. i've never experienced this myself but i know it's a known bug on kat and vi and they say that self casting fixes it

Anyone else having issues logging on in NA?

The problem with Kassadin is that he doesn't fit into the League of Legends that their balance team has imagined. Kassadin's problem is he is tanky, mobile, and (because of his kit) needs to do good damage to make the kit make sense.
This means, at some point of every game Kassadin will be overpowered, or he just won't make sense. Riot doesn't balance based on those kinds of champion curves, they explicitly disclaim that kind of curve at every point, even Kass's rework tried to bring him away from that, IMO it kinda did. They just need to kill his lategame uberness, or the champ won't fit the game, how they like it, because they sure as hell aren't going to let him have 10 CS at 7 minutes.

How's the new Zilean?
|
New Zilean is great provided you don't buy too many wards, remember less wards is more gold put into fighting items. His E is really exceptional as long as you don't use it too often to put wards down on the map. Certain unnamed boosters have told me this, so I can't say I'm speaking from experience.
Nah but seriously though new Zilean is pretty damn strong. His bombs are actually threats now if you can land them reliably (which wasn't too hard in the game I played on him) and a 99% E is bonkers at max rank. You do kinda notice his ult not being up all the time a la old Zilean but he's definitely a lot more fun in my eyes after his rework. Still don't think I'd play him however.

I think he is mid material, tbh.
He seems really good.

Yeah I get the feeling he'll be contested in a few weeks pretty hard. Also hes much better than Lulu at similar roles, so I think shes going to be less meta with new Zil around.

Can you cleanse Zed ult? I know QSS works, but I dont want to buy one. lol.
Trying to lift myself back up to plat with Draven, lol. (that and i've come to terms with the fact I have no idea how to win anymore, lol. Dont need to shotcall from ADC.)

Only thing worth trying is a CDR power farming build. With the range of Q you can do a couple of interesting things like take two of the wraith small creeps from mid lane (if you have the AP to kill them).
But overall it seems like the effect of Q farm is seriously overpriced in his kit and his stun takes way too long to land

No cleanse does not remove Zed's ult. That said QSS on Draven is nuts because an unhindered Draven is only ever like 3 axes away from teeing off on pretty much anyone. Heal is the best summoner for adcs anyways.

After the removal of scaling MR, Kassadin is really not tanky at all; he can feel hard to kill because Zhonyas is an item, but that's a problem with Zhonyas, not the champion itself. The mobility argument is also pretty bullshit because there are plenty of champions that can almost rival Kassadin's mobility. As for damage, I don't understand why Riot didn't go through with their idea of moving his power onto W.
If Kassadin's poking power is too strong, give Q back its silence but nerf the shit out of the damage; I'm talking halving that shit. Then move the power onto W so Kassadin is forced to actually use his mobility to put himself in danger. If you're worried about bruiser Kassadin being a thing, make the ratios high, but keep the base damages really low.
Kassadin is a very difficult to balance champion and he probably did need another round of nerfs. I can't speak for everyone, but personally I absolutely loathe this change because it's the harshest and laziest way for Riot to nerf him and also completely removes what makes him unique.

Lol, was a good effort on my part, but after two games of crushing my lane, being 5k gold ahead of the rest of the game and proceeding to get liss ult into vi ult into rando top Lane srun ive decided I'm not good enough at adc to carry low Elo games from adc in this hyper mobility super single target lock down meta.
Even with qss not enough get out of jail free cards, and unfortunately not enough peels.
I really do like Draven though.
