Either way, you're saying mercs cut the stun duration so hard veigar can no longer 100-0 me? Yes it does, actually, because you're dodging Dark Matter. If Veigar so incredibly ahead he can one shot you with QR, he doesn't even need to stun you so the point is moot. And if someone is that ahead, then it really doesn't matter what champ he's playing lol. W delay is 1.25s. At level 3 Event Horizon, Veigar stuns for 1.3s vs. a Merc Tread target. That is assuming he casts Dark Matter with less than .05s delay, aka instantly, if he wants to hit. Realistically, delay means you need level 4 Event Horizon for a guaranteed hit. If you have level 4 stun, it means you have 3 less levels in W, which is 250 damage less. Combined with the MR Mercs give you, it is extremely unlikely Veigar can one shot you unelss he's incredibly far ahead or until much much later into the game, when you can reasonably be expected to have other MR and HP items as well. This math is wrong because Dark Matter has a AOE you need to walk or dash out of to escape. It takes another half second+ or so to walk out of it, You don't automatically dodge it if you become unCCed before it lands.
I mean, if Veigar missed you with EH(which is what happened if you weren't instantly stunned, assuming we're still talking about a vacuum 1v1 scenario), then the counterplay is to smile because Dark Matter is nearly impossible for him to land.

Yes, the best EU LCS ADC does run AS glyphs. In his recent AMA, he states that MR doesn't help much in lane (he'd rather rely on positioning) and he doesn't save him against AP Mid burst mid/late game. AS Glyphs helps his DPS, so why not. If he's going to survive burst, it's going to be because of his positioning, mechanics, Flash timing, etc, not having 12 additional MR. Forgiven's two ADC rune pages on the EU server. No one here is saying if it's good or bad but it's what a top tier pro is using and he has his reasons.
Do not call me retarded.

I love how they remove DFG, and then talk about how Veigar needs buffs to compensate.
And then they completely gut him.
..... WP Riot. I wouldn't be surprised if Veigars winrate drops below 40% after this patch.
Veigar already had massive massive problems against Banshees/QSS lategame, where he can no longer stun people to start up - Now hes going to die in the .75 seconds it takes to form, IF he can even land it with that. Good players will never get stunned by him again. And then we have a squishy mage with 0 cc and 0 escapes. Thats totally going to do well...

Pls Dae, I read your entire post thinking you were Cheep. Why Veigar icon.

Because hes my main, favorite hero, and most played. Also the first hero I ever really played when I started playing league.
This is just killing the last thing I loved about league.

Clearly you and Cheep need to have a battle to the death for who gets the Veigar icon.

My favorite champions in league were (In order):
Veigar AP Nidalee Olaf Corki Lux Cassiopeia
Every single one of them (besides Lux) has been reworked to a vastly less fun state in my opinion.
I hate league devs...

I've also heard that they're opted into against champions like Rumble because after runes, masteries, Sorcs, and Guise your MR is completely negated anyway so you might as well say fuck all to it and at least get something out of your runes.

idk, Cassio isn't too bad right now.... Ofc if they had just fixed her E problems and left the rest as it was, I would've been happier, but all in all it wasn't too bad no?

http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/02/213-pbe-update.html Smite
Range reduced to 500 from 760. Targeting type changed from center-to-center to edge-to-edge.
[Context from Pwyff: "RE: Smite change - we're switching it from center-to-center targeting to edge-to-edge targeting. What this effectively means is... [1/2]" & "... Chilling Smite range is effectively down by about 150, but vs. monsters it's relatively unchanged because monsters have HUGE hitboxes".
[Context from Meddler: "We're testing changing Smite to measure from edge to edge, rather than from center to center, and then reducing its range. That means that against big targets (like Baron or Dragon) it will have the same effective range it currently does (they've got enormous models, other monsters like Blue/Red it's very slightly shorter against, think half a step's worth). Against champions by contrast it will have a noticeably lower range. One of the reasons behind that change is the belief that Chilling Smite is making skillshot/free targeted offensive dash junglers (such as Lee Sin, Jarvan, Amumu etc), more reliable in early ganks than they should be."]
+ Show Spoiler [Riot unapproved translation] + Here at Riot, we think junglers being able to gank is unfun. With this change, we're trying to make all the good jungling champions suck as much as all the other ones that we've left in a subpar state.
|
Lol. Why introduce offensive ganking smite if you're going to nerf it into the ground?
|
I don't really feel like chilling smite is OP other than vs. other options but this doesn't fix that.
|
I dunno, I think Chilling Smite is pretty amazingly strong, personally.
I can get the logic here, although I think it's a little funny that they're calling out those super scary early Amumu ganks.
Further, it is a nerf to Chilling Smite relative to the other Smites because: Trailblazer Smite can't be used on champions. Poachers Smite can't be used on champions. Skirmisher Smite only really does stuff if you're in autoattack range anyway.

Some prefer early trailblazer for faster farming into stalkers when they get their enchantment. So the early impact at highest level of play is actually pretty small.
|
So, those Mordekaiser changes... Nerfing all of a champion's damage so they can't burst doesn't suddenly make them good sustained damage. And buffing Q cd isn't going to help because Morde can't reliably get it off on cooldown.
