tl's ogn coverage and discussion was always the best really. this hasn't changed.

Biscuit is better early, runic affinity is better mid/late. It's partially personal preference. If you think you need the extra sustain early, then take biscuit. If not, take runic affinity.

As a note, I don't think the biscuit mastery is actually working.

Depends on your champ and preference. I prefer taking the 3 movespeed, 3 mana regen and 3 summoner cooldown over both biscuit and buff duration. I don't like buff duration because on my solo queue voyages I can't rely on getting buffs, so if I had to choose between biscuit and buff duration I'd go biscuit. Biscuit feels a little underwhelming to me, but I can see the appeal if you need more sustain.

There's no straight up better choice really.

i'm convinced the girls can only be good at support thing is only in NA, there's at least two Chinese streams I've seen that has D1/Challenger legit 420 mechanics girls, one gets consistent 20k+ viewers. Also the money Chinese streamers make in general is pretty insane.

well it actually makes no sense that girls are worse at games than males as an average biologically, so it's obviously cultural. that said I'm not sure why China would be better from what little I know of theirs

I don't run Runic Affinity... at least not any more. With the jungle changes I find getting blue to be one of those hit or miss kind of thing.

Does "legit 420 mechanics" mean you play as if you were high?

420 mechanics is when you smoke and get better. The idea is, that weed makes you more relaxed, so if you're a very hyper-active player, you end up doing shit loads of mistakes if you're sober. Then when you smoke weed, you stop flaming, you tryhard and generally just durr around without having no idea what the hell you're doing.

I got diamond 1 this way, legit legit legit legit.

Chinese streaming platforms grossly inflate their viewer counts so that 20k probably isn't that much more than you typical NA girl stream though.

Well I have a female friend who's diamond 1 and much better than I am so there's that.

I'm of the opinion that it is a cultural thing more than any actual physical limitation.

well technically there'd be also women who could also kick your ass physically, but that's not proof of anything biologically.

Girls tend to have more pressure than boys to do things that are less socially acceptable/safe/etc. A girl wouldn't be encouraged to try to start their own company or become a novelist or whatever the same way a boy is. China just has a large population so the number of girls who don't care about that is higher, so there's more likely to be talent that comes out than in NA.

Chinese girls can't have boyfriends in high school (nor boys girlfriends) or have to hide them so they tend to spend more time online (this is my own conjecture though), so they ought to be a little more technologically able too.

I didn't actually like LCS coverage all that much. It seemed forced in a way and boring, whereas OGN coverage was big part of what got me into KR League. Maybe that's because OGN coverage was the mix of accessible stuff (power rankings, "storylines", player trivia) and more advanced things (drafts and strategies). Whereas there's so much accessible stuff about LCS on the Internet already that the only things worth covering are drafts and strategies. Not to mention that Korea was historically full of diferent strategies and playstyles and a lot of Western top teams are defined by whether they are strategical (C9, SK, Crs) or relying on individual talent of the players (Fnatic, TSM, Alliance). If it were up to me I'd say focus on Korea/China coverage and only do Western if a writer finds something interesting about it.
Americans don't like to use unblockables, it is considered not honest. You press a button at the wrong time and hit the other person, you are random, not a top player. You DP Sim's far fierce, it is random and not honest.

LCS is just boring as shit. Hard to make any kind of exciting coverage of something so boring. We'll see if this new season is able to be exciting

It's one of those things that are so marred by cultural pressures that it's hard to do any strict scientific studies on. However things like reaction time, and spacial visualization ability have all been shown to favor males by a pretty large margin.

After looking at 10+ papers, http://www.iosrphr.org/papers/v2i3/R023452454.pdf is the only one which seems to be even vaguely credible, but tbh that difference seems pretty minimal. (And even this one reads like a highschool psych project -.-)

Besides, these low count studies don't account for the fact that top level players are likely to be in the top percentile of their gender with regards to reaction times anyway, and I can't find any research into whether the top x% of males are faster then the top x% of females, or if it's just the average curve is slightly lower for females, but they peak around the same place. Basically all these studies are irrelevant for the purposes of judging gender differences in top level athletes.

Not to mention it completely ignores potential externalities, fx the possibility that traditional "male" activities (sports, gaming etc) potentially being very good conduits through which to train reaction time, something which can often be improved by 10-20% just through practice, which would more then cover the difference.

Spacial visualization as an advantage in gaming just going into buzzword territory at this point though >.>
I could just as easily say "women are better at multitasking so they should die to ganks less" and it would have just as much grounding in science.

tldr: wei2 pls

Spacial visualization comparisons have been shown in DAT testing (there's pretty significant difference between male and female for the spacial visualization section of DAT). This is probably the most well known documented report, but there are plenty of other studies that have shown similar results. There's been ton of reaction time studies showing same thing.

Another thing to note is how normal curves tend to work, 1sd difference significantly impacts upperend when comparing two groups.

@amui also cultural impact can also impacts genetic selection. Hunter gatherer relations have also been a natural selector in terms of gene pool.

Also just the general fact that males, cognitively, occupy the tails of the normal distribution at a higher rate means they are going to have a high % of high performing spacial awareness persons (high performing persons in general, intellectually).
