Pretty sure they don't look for "work experience", since it's an intern position and it's pretty obvious that you don't have anything. You do, however, have a wealth of knowledge. Show them that you are smart, knowledgeable, and a good problem solver who have insights on dealing with Riot's challenges and you will be fine.

Also show them your research. Make sure you can describe your research in a way that a human resource guy with no knowledge in computer science can understand.
