Seriously though, I feel like FF is a lot weaker now. BUT MAN, THAT NERF IS NOTHING, WTF IS RIOT DOING
Hue. People didn't pay attention to the fact that on top of being a later Flare timing, it also means 5 less stacks when unless you're playing PvE Udyr/Shyvana/Yi you usually won't have more than ~15-20 when you reach midgame, so that's a lot of its additional power removed (around 10% of its on-hit damage and heal).
Plus people still picked up Xin and Noc without knowing how to play them and now Vi is available more often.

clg improved tremendously this split but saying clgany NA team could be worlds contender is hilarious.

Innox and Benny might get relegated and become free agents, although they're arguably worse or not much of an improvement over Nien. EU relegations are going to be happening soon. Not to mention CLG Maknoon. Doublelift said in his interview about Nien stepping down that CLG would likely look to EU or Asia for a replacement because (in Double's opinion) there's no top lane talent in NA. Are there any decent top lane talent that isn't locked up in LCS in NA? Megazero I guess? But, the biggest issue is with CLG's budget they should be aiming for contending internationally, not just top NA team. Yeah, probably. Technically Innox, Zion, and Benny are all free agents because teams that are up for relegation are not considered LCS teams. I dunno if any of them would leave their teams for CLG or not and I also don't really think any of those three are an improvement over Nien. So yeah, CLG should try to pick up someone from EU. Asia would be cool but there aren't very many top talent players in Asia that also speak decent English (except Maknoon but I doubt that joke will ever become reality). NA definitely have talent. We see that C9 does pretty well against EU teams right now, and I think CLG and TSM can compete against top EU teams (not saying they will win, but the difference is not too big).
The difference is that EU has far better challenger teams.

That's not good enough for a team like CLG.

The barrier to entry for world's contender is a matter of having a roster with enough individual talent so that they don't become a liability. Obviously they're not to go around slaying Koreans left and right, but they'll at least be good enough now so they don't straight up lose due to weak lanes.

Man, as a CLG fan since pre-season 1 I would love this. But as a CLG fan for what like 3-4 years I can't buy into any of that hype anymore. I would be pleasantly surprised with CLG's performance in the second half of the year if they just qualify for worlds (even if they lose every single game at worlds). Being a CLG fan is like being in an abusive relationship that you just keep coming back to hoping they'll change.

Why would zoro leave nip? That makes no sense.
If NIP does not qualify for LCS, then yes.

There's pretty much only one top laner in NA and that's balls. The rest are mediocre and inconsistent. Zion/Quas are most likely next best but it's so hard to tell since their teams are terrible. Dyrus/Nien have vastly better teams but look worse than them so yea.

I certainly hope CLG won't pick up Megazero. I want him to play for my school team :D.
+ Show Spoiler +JK. It'd be amazing to see him on CLG, and I think he's actually a really good top laner. I wonder how he feels after the Complexity stuff though.

Damn, seeing Nien step down makes me sad, because at MLG Anaheim he was seriously the nicest and most genuine pro player. Even though he's not the most amazing top laner ever he's still better than every other top laner in NA minus Dyrus and Balls.

i wouldn't be surprised at all if CLG could offer zorozero a significant pay increase. combined with the increased exposure from the CLG brand and being more likely to look good dominating weaker NA competition there are a lot of reasons he mgiht want to leave NIP.

This current 4-man roster is pretty solid right now, can execute majority of strategies and play them out without having shit like laning phase seriously cripple them. Pick up a top laner at the same level as aprho/dl/link/dexter, and you got a team that has enough skill not to just crumble in early game against top teams.
clg would be a huge upgrade over nip for zoro, if that's where the offer goes. Even if NiP gets back into LCS, there's no way of knowing where they'll place in EU team. Meanwhile CLG is comfortably in 3rd place with a worse toplaner, and has way more exposure, more money (i'm guessing), access to servers that work, and in-n-out.

Calling it... this is a publicity stunt. You don't know what ya got til it's gone... bla bla bla. parking lot. Make the community sad. Nien will be back as top laner.

Which is why you play jungler and win games
I've legit had games where I trashed my opponent so bad that we took down their nexus turrets before he got his stacks.

I am not exactly sure how visas work but don't european imports all have the 1-2 week tax of "need to go back to renew visas which always takes longer than you expect?" TSM was hit by this (although regi stepped up and it didn't ultimately cost TSM anything) and EG was really affected by this to the point where they almost came dead last (their performance the whole split was suspect, but the auto-losses from missing 3/5 of your main roster certainly didn't help)
EDIT: actually i'd really like an explanation of how those visas work. Is it not possible to get a visa that lets you stay in the US for the whole split?

From what I experience couple days recently, before people used to spend 6 ban for junglers, but now people don't really care about all 6 jungler bans anymore.
I guess people figure out that if all are OP, then ban noone.

Bjerger, Dexter and all of EG joined North America on a relatively short notice iirc.
If they get a replacement asap (in as if Nip gets smashed tomorrow contact Zorozero immediately) maybe they can deal with all the bureaucratic shit before summersplit starts.

Tbh I'm not that bothered by Nien leaving the main roster. All those people whining about how much shit he got from social media, welcome to (e-)sports. Reginald, HSGG, Zuna, Yellowpete, everyone who's ever underperformed has gone through the same shit as he has.
I am looking forward to seeing CLG playing with a high quality top. Nien was always a subpar top, I'd like to see him back as ad. Maybe XDG could trade Zion for him.

You can get visas that last years(work and sport visas), but I think those take longer to acquire because of the requirements to get them. Tourist/travel visas last anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months, and can typically be acquired quickly with some exceptions(the country you are coming from/going to). LCS players are eligible for the sport visas since the ruling last year, but I don't know that any players had gotten them yet.
