Back in s3 when he was played more you'd beat him by having another ranged top like Kennen go against him, harass the crap out of him to stop him from farming early game creeps, and having a gank top from the jungler happen to secure the gold lead for your top laner. It's very hard to stop the mid/late game Ryze from farming back into relevancy, so your best bet to win or secure an advantage is to slow him down as much as you can from getting his RoA pre-15 minutes. | ||

Aegis had a niche of being the item that gives both armor and MR and built out of lots of small bits. Now it doesn't anymore. | ||
