So no? He's an insane lane bully who nobody can beat unless he way overextends and fucks up stand aside? Cause that's what this thread is making it sound like. I'm mostly trying to play devil's advocate here, because I can understand how the current meta would make Draven really strong, but I'm curious as to what people think is a good counter to a Draven botlane. Do you just run tons of CC bot so you can lock him down when you get a gank? Edit: Thanks, post below helps. | ||

You need to carve out a bit of lead a level 1 before he has Blood Rush, and then if you can trade his Qs for your auto+Q+E you can keep him tamed. It can fall apart on you if you mess up though. Miss Fortune might be able to stand up to him with the right support. Draven has always been a huge lane bully, he's just really hard to play and kind of vulnerable to assassins, also not very good at tower pushing. | ||

Do you just run tons of CC bot so you can lock him down when you get a gank? idk really. every game i play at my level comes down to who is less retarded, but like i said early, lucian is pretty good vs him because of how his passive trades with axes. jinx isnt bad because range is always op. and same goes for cait. honestly the scariest thing to see in a game (imo) when you have draven is Vi. i honestly dont know how to deal with that champ in a reliable way. | ||

The bolded is part of why I wanted to ask the question, because at my level it really just comes down to the person's mechanics, game knowledge, and skill on particular champions as opposed to lane matchups. So I'm curious as to how he works in competitive play because it's hard to judge it at my level. Edit: Also because a bunch of my friends have started to play more 5s together and want me to play more adc. I'm used to solo-laning more than anything so any botlane knowledge I can absorb is good. | ||

Draven is the counter in lane to almost all of the aforementioned champions. He crushes Lucian, Jinx, Sivir, Tristana, and Varus, and this is why he is still a viable pick. If you are a perfect Draven player and never drop an axe, you will still be doing massive damage while being extremely slippery. Blood Rush is the ultimate tool against the OP bruisers right now, and will allow you to kite in otherwise impossible situations. | ||

To be fair, hosan was REALLY good at draven. Then again jimbownz was really good at ADC kennen so one guy doesn't really account for it. Stealths saw fit to ban it twice against storm and they beat frost with him but that might be more down to arrow who iirc is like a god of draven in Korea than the champion himself. | ||
