I don't get why you don't just buy the skins you want if you have so much RP :o

Considering that if I for example wanted 10 skins and there were 150 possibilities, I would never ever spend the money on a lottery with such poor chances.
I guess some people get addicted to wasting money, never been my thing. I would only give mystery gifts as gifts, where they have the -fun- effect as well. Just like buying a lottery ticket as a present for someone once. Mass-buying them makes no sense, and unlike mass-buying lottery tickets, you have very low potential returns even if you miraculously end up getting lucky - You're still only losing money so it doesn't even have the point of gambling.

It was free RP so not so much money wasting, but the investment was 4410 RP and i got 6700RP worth of skins so in that case its better then just buying skins. Or you need to buy skin in sales to have better rp values, but the mystery is a nice concept which i appeal.
"losing money"... you invest in skins so you will get some kind of value back. In some people minds skins arn't worth anything, but for me it adds value to the game you are playing, but still it was free RP so i dont really care.

That's assuming that all the skins are worth their value to that person specifically which is never the case unless they swap skins between champions and play almost all champions. I guess it's a valid point about not wasting money if you get it for free, though, but it's still a waste of RP.
Now to make learning jungling my next project. Considering that they now constantly outlane sololanes and are able to carry teams and actually are the most mechanical, I guess it should suit me better than solotop. Hopefully won't take too long to get used to.

Lottery is also a waste of money, doesn't stop people from buying tickets at all.
People like gambling and praying to the RNGesus.

At least if you win the lottery you get something you want. Mystery gifting can get you skins you'll never use so it's not actually saving you any RP.

People can play lottery with 10 euros a week. It really doesn't affect their wellbeing in any way - You can think of it as a weekly payment for having an exciting saturday while seeing the drafts on the TV. However, if you win, your entire life will change, completely. There's a chance for that to happen. It might be your only chance of ever becoming a millionaire. While the expectation is negative, the potential reward is there.
Obviously if you want to have every skin in the game you could use mystery gifts to get them all.

Dumb as fuck.
And people scoffed when I said Rengar would never be balanced.

Sir you got Pool Party Leona... that's a great skin.

Off the top of my head there weren't any skins I was like man I really want that so the chance of a legendary that I would never be willing to consider actually buying RP for was pretty worth. I didn't get anything super cool or 1350+ tier but I also got a skin on champs I didn't have a skin for and no doubles on a champ so I'll consider it a wash

Ten bucks on expected nothing is outrageous, but twenty bucks on things that they'd spend it on anyway are no good?
With mystery gift it's nearly impossible to lose value, but if you win you win big.

Rengar is pretty strong even if he doesn't build tank. My nephew plays almost only Rengar and he just instagibs ADCs with just Hydra and LW.
