Have we all forgotten C9's dominance already after watching a few weeks of solo-queue? throw them into ogn and see how they kill everything after 15 minutes That has absolutely nothing to do with the point Link was/is making there. it certainly does when the standard is top 5 in the world. c9 has the throwtastic na scene figured out but this does not mean they can be nearly as dominant on an intl stage facing better teams.
there's probably 5 teams in ogn that can destroy c9 in laning phase alone.

And yet i feel like playing in a season of OGN would also do a ton of c9's game. There is a limit with how good your own game can be depending on the level of opponents you play regularly.

and those 5 teams also trash TSM's botlane easily

And regardless, we'll never know because Riot.

not sure why the standard is top 5??? wtf
people get to hung up on world rank on if something is good, I think this is why people are so divided on how good Xpecial is, if you are like hey this guy is a really good player, I don't think you'd get that much push back, but for some reason people always want to make wild claims like top 5 supports in the world, hell no, and that isn't an insult.

You're either first or you're in a slump. Learnt that one from SC2.

cus the discussion started with peke's comment that c9 can be top 5 with better scrim partners.

It was soaz, on another note I remember cloudtemplar saying that mineski could be a good team with solid practice some pros do make some big claims on quality of teams lol. His comment was during a mineski match at worlds which went like "Mineski are actually pretty good if they practiced more"
|
it's conceivable.
honestly the way Korean teams looked at worlds (good but not god mode) I feel like the playing field could be pretty even if the ability to practice with Asian teams at lan speed was available to top NA/EU teams, unfortunately it is not.

standard is top 5 because wei2 said that xpecial/turtle is "easily top5 world" :D
|
I mean I had round about addressed that comment, but I can be more direct.
Wei was correct in defending Turtle/Xpecial as a "not to be trifled with in the NA LCS" lane, but crushed his own argument under the weight of top 5 world.
look, Huk had good micro, nobody would have made fun of him if he just said, "I got some really good micro skills" but instead he had to lose his mind for a moment.

turtle plays with a pretty unique aggressive style that may give people fits when they are not used to playing against him. i don't know if it's some sort of long run ideal. bot lane isn't a big playmaking position though so whatever difference between the elite level guys can be rather hard to see.
korean teams were really underprepared for worlds, had a late patch timing, and they were extensively studied before then. i think on hardware (player talent) and software (coaching, team research etc) conditions, their true level was not properly reflected at worlds, at least during groups

being prepared is part of being good.

TSM will still suck next season.

I don't understand how people can retain their TSM fanboyism.
They're still douchebags, and now they're also no longer the best talent in NA. Let it go.

As far as tsm still sucking compared to world class teams, that'll still happen until dyrus stops feeding 8 kills in first 5 min of game.
