Subpar compared to what? Her damage is relatively high, especially during clean up. If built tanky with a bit of damage, she has a nice combo of tanky and damage. She's also at least decent at poking if your team has some bit of a frontline. Rapel gives a lot of room to do "da plays". Like, among top lanes she's definitely no the worst at 5v5s.

I dunno, being first pick/ban in tournaments for months and destroying anything that looked at him funny in top lane sounds overpowered to me. I'm berating your opinion because it's dumb and you don't have anything to back it up outside of feels.

hah, he used to be the illest teamfighter in the world. I recall multiple pros saying the reason you picked him was to obliterate in teamfights. Tragic that he's been so weak so long that he's relegated to splitpush category.

Zac was only picked by Fnatic top btw, so I don't know if that means that he's less good than jax/shen/renekton. If anything, this looks way more like the players were comfortable with those picks, and played them. Saying the reason Elise top wasn't played is because she's not as good as the above picks seems less likely than those players not feeling as comfortable with top elise.

Elise was basically picked as a jungler in almost all semi final games, with a heavier priority on Lee Sin only. Dunno what her overall pick-ban for the tournament is though, but I imagine it's pretty high.
But yeah, seems for some reason in the pro scene she's fallen out of favour in top lane. It used to be a big thing that she could go either top or jungle, now it's weird to me if it's not jungle. Not sure when that happened...
