Remember when GD was on the whole "Quinn is a much better version of Ashe. ASHE IS AWFUL RITOPLS!" train? Popped in a few times to say that Ashe was awesome under the right conditions, got downvoted. About a month later Zyra/Ashe happened.

TLDR official GD is stupid.

I don't think that Karma is bad. I think she's niche.

GD acted for a long time that Karma was very strong or sleeper OP or something. And she wasn't. Pre-rework or post-rework Karma is a niche champion. She's probably less niche now than she used to be but she's still niche imoimo.

I have a hard time envisioning why I would want Midkarma (or any utility mage), particularly when her kit is very comparable to and except for the ulted-shield inferior to Lux.
E: It's worth mentioning that I still play her when the opportunity arises because it's fun, but that's not a matter of champion strength.

I've been running her top. Having a second support with good damage is a great thing in late game skirmishes/teamfights and she lanes pretty well in my experience. Assuming your mid/ADC didn't get shut down you get a top laner that brings CC, Shields (loads of them), and a moderate third threat.

I'm a top noob though so take it with a grain.
